Chapter 811
Chapter 811
The young man quickly rubbed his eyes hard. Just as he was about to call out and try to wake her, footsteps sounded outside the confinement chamber. A moment later, the patrol officers who had previously escorted Raven in opened the iron door and filed in.
“Drag that girl out!” one of the officers ordered coldly. “The execution is happening right now!”
Two of the officers approached Raven. Seeing her with her eyes shut and seemingly in pain, they curled their lips with disgust. “Stop your act. In a
minute, your head will be gone, and you feel a damn thing.”
As they bent down to grab her arms, Raven’s captivating eyes suddenly opened.
In that instant, the entire confinement chamber was engulfed by a storm–like, chaotic pressure. The force hadn’t yet adapted to its surroundings and surged wildly through the dark, damp space.
As the overwhelming aura filled every corner of the chamber, focus returned to the once–unfocused look in her eyes.
At that moment, everyone in the room, including the disheveled young man, instinctively sensed danger.
But their instincts had kicked in a second too late. With a slight lift of her delicate hand, Raven released an invisible burst of force that exploded into the air, causing a massive shockwave.
The two patrol officers reaching for her were instantly flung across the room, blood pouring from their seven orifices. They died on the spot. Even the young man nearby staggered backward, clutching his chest in pain as a metallic taste filled his throat.
Just as he managed to suppress the surge of blood, he saw the sturdy iron door ahead of Raven burst apart under the impact of her aura, leaving behind only scattered fragments.
He hadn’t even had time to check his injuries. The sight alone left him dumbfounded. That supposedly impenetrable door had just been reduced to scrap metal right before his eyes.
He instinctively turned his head toward the girl and unfortunately met her unfathomable gaze. There was no emotion in her eyes, and yet it sent an overwhelming pressure through his knees, making him feel like bowing down in submission.
“You… you dare to resist?”
The remaining patrol officers standing outside the chamber trembled as they pointed at Raven. “Do you even understand the consequences? Attacking officers in Forreb is a capital crime on top of all others!”
They were too shaken to realize that they’d come here to carry out a death sentence anyway. His threat became much less effective.
Of course, to Raven now, no threat mattered.
She looked at the officers, who were trying to put on a show of force despite being on edge, and smiled faintly. Her smile sent chills down their spines.
The next second, she raised her hand again, pointing at the officer who had just threatened her. At the exact moment she made the gesture, a hand–sized hole exploded in his chest.
With a dull thud, his corpse hit the floor, sending the rest of the patrol officers stumbling backward in panic.
But it was too late. Raven walked slowly out of the confinement chamber, and with every step she took, the ground trembled slightly beneath her feet.
“Don’t come any closer!”
“Stop! I said stop, do you hear me?”
The patrol officers didn’t dare get close and could only retreat again and again, helplessly watching Raven leave the chamber, walk down the long corridor, and reach the second checkpoint gate.
