In an instant, the entire private room fell into dead silence.
The dignified head of the Inspection Bureau actually bowing and apologizing to a so–called “Tower–realm” woman.
While everyone stood stunned, the commander began crying bitterly before Raven.
He said in a trembling voice, “My lady… I didn’t know the person they were talking about was you… If I had known, I would never have brought people here!”
He had been hoping to avoid Raven for the rest of his life. He wouldn’t dare to cross her again.
He pleaded, “Please, I swear I’ll submit my resignation as soon as I return today! You have a noble heart. Please spare my life!”
Raven felt helpless. She hadn’t even said a word yet, and the commander was already terrified.
The middle–aged man and the group of wealthy heirs looked on in utter disbelief.
“Officer, what’s wrong with you?”
“You’re the head of the Inspection Bureau! How can you be scared of someone from the lower realms?”
“This is insane! She’s the one who injured Mr. Cherry. Just arrest her already!”
“Commander, you…”
“Shut your mouths!” the commander snapped, shooting a venomous glare at the still–howling heirs. “Arrest her? Do you all want me dead that badly?”
Then, turning to the middle–aged man who had dragged him into this mess, his face contorted in rage. “You bastard! I had no grudge against you, yet you set me up like this? I’ll remember this. You and I… we’re not done!”
He then moved closer to Raven, respectfully bowing and apologizing to her.
With a pained, forced smile, the commander sobbed as he spoke. “My lady, I swear I didn’t know you were here. That piece of trash deliberately lured me into this trap. If he’d told me you were involved, I would never have shown up!”
He added, “Don’t worry. I’ll arrest every last one of these fools who dared to disrespect you and make sure they never step out of line again!”
The rich heirs were utterly stunned to see the commander of the Inspection Bureau bowing to Raven. He even claimed to arrest them all.
Sure, their families weren’t as powerful as the Cloudshadow Sect or the Larsson family, but in Frihamen City, they were still considered elite households. It seemed the commander did not fear public backlash.
“Impossible…” Felipe stood in a daze, muttering to himself as he stared at the commander. “This… this can’t be real…”
To him, Raven was just a smuggled nobody from the lower realms. She wouldn’t have the clout to make the Inspection Bureau commander act like this.
And this wasn’t just respect. He looked downright terrified. Even if Raven knew a bit of martial arts, she was still just an ordinary person. Felipe thought she couldn’t have the strength to overpower the entire Inspection Bureau.
While Felipe and the others were still reeling in shock, Raven calmly raised her hand with a faint flick of her fingers. “I’ll leave it to you to handle. These people were disrespectful to my fiancé. Take them in.”
“Yes!” the commander responded instantly, as if he’d been granted a pardon from death. He leapt to his feet and barked orders at his subordinates. “Arrest every last one of thern!”
