“What’s the matter?” Mack gritted his teeth, struggling to keep his temper in check. “Today is Felipe’s wedding to your Lady Valor. Why hasn’t anyone from Cloudshadow Sect come to greet us?”
Timothy, busy overseeing the stage setup in the banquet hall, sneered inwardly at the phone call.
Timothy thought, ‘So, Mack believes Felipe will marry Lady Valor? He must be out of his mind to think he’d question me with such arrogance.
However, not wanting to disrupt Raven’s plans, Timothy patiently explained, “The bride’s side handles the welcoming tradition. It’s customary for Cloudshadow Sect to follow our rules and not send anyone to greet you.”
He paused momentarily before adding, “Besides, Lady Valor is tied up with urgent matters and hasn’t returned yet. I already sent you the address of the venue. You’ll have to figure it out from there.”
“Timonthy, we’ve arrived. We’re standing right at the hotel entrance. Shouldn’t someone come to get us?” came the sharp response.
“Hello? What did you say?” Timothy suddenly feigned a poor signal, pretending he couldn’t hear anything. “I didn’t catch that…”
“We’re right here at the door. Send someone to greet us!” Mack barked, frustration rising.
Beep, beep, beep… The line went dead with a busy signal.
“Bastard!” Mack snarled, barely stopping himself from throwing his phone across the room. “How dare a mere executive act like that with me!”
Mack thought, ‘We arrived alone, and they can’t even be bothered to greet us?‘
Leonard overheard Mack’s conversation with Timothy, saying, “Didn’t Timothy say that
that Lady Valor isn’t back yet? He’s probably just using his position to brush us off. If Lady Valor finds out, he’ll be in trouble. Let’s not stoop to his level.”
“That’s true,” Mack said, his anger subsiding slightly, replaced by a hint of smug satisfaction. “Once Felipe marries into Cloudshadow Sect, he’ll be second only to Lady Valor. Everyone in the sect will have to listen to him. We’ll settle things with Timothy later.”
The banquet hall buzzed with noise and excitement as the prominent families of Frihamen City arrived early, offering cash gifts and presents at the
entrance.
Many guests pretended to chat and mingle with those around them, but their eyes were focused on the entrance, eagerly searching for the Lady Valor and Mr. Cherry.

connection.
