Chapter 884
“When will the wedding banquet start? We’ve been waiting for over half an hour!”
“The ceremony will start promptly at 10:10. It’s only 9:00 now, so we’ve just arrived too early,” another family member calmly replied
“There’s no need to rush. After the ceremony, the bride and groom will toast the guests. By then, you’ll have plenty of chances to introduce yourselves to: Lady Valor of Cloudshadow Sect”
“True. Even if Lady Valor is busy greeting others, we can always catch Mr. Cherry. He’s got a way of getting Lady Valor’s attention. After today, I suspect Frihamen City will be under the Cherry family’s control”
“Apologies for the delay, everyone. Please, forgive me,” a cheerful voice interrupted as Timonthy hurried over
“I still need to check the schedule with the officiant. Feel free to relax before the reception officially begins,” he added, his tone apologetic.
“Timonthy, you go ahead. Don’t worry about us. By the way, has Lady Valor arrived?”
Dangelo and Brecken approached Timonthy, carefully observing his expression as they cautiously asked. “I’ve heard so much about Lady Valor’s legendary presence, but I’ve never had the chance to meet her. We were hoping to offer our blessings to her before the wedding.”
“Lady Valor hasn’t arrived yet. You’ll need to wait in the banquet hall until the event starts,” Timonthy replied coolly, his tone as neutral as ever.
“We’ll wait here and witness Lady Valor’s presence,” Dangelo said, taking the slight with a forced smile, careful not to show displeasure.
Timonthy cast a pointed look at Dangelo and the nearby Julio.
“Since you’re so curious about the identity of our Lady Valor, I advise you to keep your composure when you meet her. I’d hate to see any embarrassing reactions from shock.”
These two had caught his attention. Timonthy had heard the whispers at the Cherry family gathering, where Dangelo and Julio had mocked Lady Valor, ridiculing her as though she were beneath them.
And now, they turn around and try to flatter Lady Valor as if such a thing would be so easily granted.
Though Timonthy knew these two were unaware of Raven’s true identity, people who only sought to climb the social ladder while putting others down didn’t deserve the hospitality Cloudshadow Sect was known for.
These family heads had once looked down on their Lady Valor, mocking her as lowborn and beneath them. With this opportunity, Timonthy intended to make it clear to them who the true lowborn, inferior ones were.
“I have matters to attend to, so I must excuse myself,” he said, his tone dismissive. Timonthy didn’t bother with any further pleasantries, offering only a few vague words before turning and leading his group upstairs to the VIP lounge.
After Timonthy left, the remaining family heads visibly relaxed, their hushed whispers turning into open conversation. “Speaking of which, what’s the real story behind this mysterious Lady Valor of Cloudshadow Sect?”
“Five years ago, no one could uncover her true identity. Then, just when Cloudshadow Sect was at its peak, she vanished without a trace. She disappeared from the public eye for years, only to quietly return, and the first thing she does upon her return is announce her marriage to Mr. Cherry. This whole story could be turned into a television series…”
“Mr. Cherry must have truly hit the jackpot. From nothing to rising so high. We could certainly gain a lot if we play our cards right with him.”
“Who would be foolish enough to do what Raven did–offend the entire Cherry family and then have the nerve to lay hands on Mr. Cherry in public?”
