Chapter 896
If the Cherry family had earned Raven and Cassian’s forgiveness and managed to save themselves, she would still be the esteemed Lady Valor of the Cloudshadow Sect, reaping endless wealth and glory.
All along, Tuesday had hidden behind the Cherry family, letting them mock and manipulate Cassian, now hoping to reap the benefits for herself
The world had never seen such a mother. Even though Cassian came from a world of schemes and intrigue, he had never encountered someone so shameless, so utterly devoid of dignity.
“Biological brother?” Cassian sneered, his gaze cold. “I’m sorry, but I have no relationship with the Cherry family, nor do I have such a disgraceful brother.”
“How stubborn you are,” Leonard exclaimed, taken aback. “Aren’t you worried that no one here in the Forreb will have your back?”
“Lady Valor of Cloudshadow Sect indeed favors you, but can you guarantee that she’ll always feel that way? What if she takes a liking to someone else? What will you do then?”
“Raven will never change her heart,” Cassian replied firmly, his eyes drifting toward Raven standing a short distance away. A soft, nostalgic light flickered in his gaze, as if he were remembering something dear.
Although his moments with the Queen had been few, each second they shared was a treasure he would never forget.
“If one day I’m no longer by her side, that will be between us, not something for you to worry about.”
Raven thought, ‘Isn’t it just that my Primary Personality might eventually merge with me in the future? It’s still the same person. Why does this Diabolus make it sound like I’ll abandon him?‘
“Cassian, are you done yet?” Felipe couldn’t hold back any longer as he saw that Cassian remained unmoved. He jumped in, his voice sharp. “No matter how you look at it, Leonard and Mack are your elders. They’ve apologized to you, so why can’t you just let it go?”
“Do you want the Cherry family to be torn apart before you’re satisfied?”
“Are you going to make a fuss over something so trivial? Are you even a man?”
Cassian laughed bitterly, “A trivial matter? You used Tuesday to trick me into coming to Forreb, planned to rip out my heart and replace it with yours, and even tried to impersonate me to steal my fiancée. And you call that a trivial matter?”
As he spoke, the faces of the Cherry family grew pale, with every word deepening their shame.
“Cassian, stop spitting nonsense!” Leonard argued shamelessly, his voice defensive. “We never wanted your heart. This is all a misunderstanding!”
“Right,” Felipe chimed in, trying to justify himself, “You say we tricked you–do you have any evidence? When you came to Forreb, we treated you well, fed you, and even wanted to take you to a banquet to show you the world. You didn’t appreciate it, but now you’re slandering us in front of everyone?”
“Sure, we weren’t perfect in how we treated you, but we never meant you harm. Why do you have to act so high and mighty, making life hard for us?”
Cassian’s glare hardened. “You want evidence?” Just then, Raven spoke up, her voice calm but sharp. “Then I’ll give you the evidence.”
With that, she made a subtle gesture toward Timothy, standing below.
Timonthy, gave a knowing nod before pulling out a USB drive and handing it to one of the staff members in the hall. Moments later, the large screen behind the stage flickered to life, displaying a surveillance video from a private hospital, showing the Cherry family plotting to have Cassian’s heart removed.
When Timonthy had led his team to the hospital, he had copied all the surveillance footage. The video clearly showed everything, from the security guards hired by the Cherry family lifting the unconscious Cassian into the hospital, to Raven arriving just in time to save him.
