Chapter 2 We’re Done
Gazing at Vivienne, Sebastian thought, “She didn’t smoke before.
‘Back then, she was a straight-A student with a radiant smile, always the center of attention.
‘But she couldn’t deal with her parents’ death, and only smoking made her feel better.
‘I get it that this is a tough period for her, but I can’t accept her being so mean.
Eli is like a sister to me. It’s only been two months since she returned, yet Vivienne already wants her gone?
I had no idea she was this cold-hearted. She has no compassion at all. Why should I pity her?”
At this, he turned around and went back to the room coldly.
Vivienne saw the expression on his face and smiled self-mockingly.
veryone praised him as the perfect husband. Only she knew how stubborn he was-he had always given her the silent reatment whenever they argued.

Vivienne was stunned.
ucinda was born on a special day, and she would always hold Lucinda’s birthday parties three days earlier. It was what

And she’d always try her best to fulfill Lucinda’s birthday wishes.
Every time, Lucinda would hold her, which was very rare. “Thank you, Mommy. You’re the best.”
How come she suddenly didn’t want it this year?
Vivienne said with absolute certainty, “Eliza said something to her.”
‘Why do you always have to pin everything on Eli?” Sebastian snapped right away.
‘You’re so unreasonable. It’s been five years since your parents were gone. How long are you gonna keep this up?”
Vivienne clenched her fists tightly, finding it hard to breathe.

In the dream, she was back in the Rivemont earthquake. To shield her and the baby she was carrying, her mother was crushed by collapsing debris.
She woke up, only to find her pillow soaked with tears.
The other side of the bed was empty.
Sebastian was on the phone next to the floor-to-ceiling window.
‘What happened, Eli? Don’t cry. Are you in danger? Talk to me. Where are you?”
The anxiety and panic on his face were palpable.
He strode out of the door hastily, not caring that he was still in his loungewear.

Her last bit of hope about him was gone.
he took off her wedding ring and tossed it into the trash bin.

Vivienne went downstairs.
liza, who had been waiting for her for quite a while already, walked toward her while holding a plate with an exquisite lid.
I’m sorry, Vivienne. I know I shouldn’t come back. But I was just so worried about Sebastian and Lucy.”
Vivienne glanced at her sideways. “Yeah, so? You wanna stay here and live with him?”
Since there was no one else around, Eliza couldn’t be bothered to act anymore.
he said with a calculating smile, “You got me, Vivienne. So? Are you gonna let me?”
Vivienne stared at her coldly.
‘Oh, come on, Vivienne. Don’t be mad. I was just joking. Sorry that I called Sebastian over last night. I made some pastries for you. I hope you like them.”
Vivienne was so fed up with the fake smile on Eliza’s face.
Just as she was about to leave, Eliza said, “It’s rose cupcakes.”
She was instantly stupefied.

1 Walked Away Naked and Returned as His Queen
Every drop of her blood froze.
Before the earthquake, her mother had hugged her, pouting for her homemade rose cupcakes, but she had refused.
Her father, who had always doted on her mother, went out to buy some.
Then it was the earthquake.
Her mother shielded her and her baby from the collapsing debris.
Though her mother’s body was already contorted, her mother tried her best to smile, saying, “I’m glad you didn’t make the rose cupcakes, Vivienne.
“At least it gives me something to crave in my final moments…”
Vivienne’s eyes glistened with tears.
She had never made any rose cupcakes after that.
And the roses planted in the manor had never bloomed again.
“Give it a go, Vivienne. See if they’re to your liking.”
Eliza smiled sweetly.
Vivienne knew for sure that Eliza did this on purpose.
Sebastian must have told Eliza about her deepest regret.
She said through gritted teeth, “Get out!”
But Eliza pretended that she hadn’t heard anything.
She continued, “Vivienne, your parents’ death anniversary is around the corner, right? Why don’t you bring these to your late mother? I’m sure she’ll be glad to see her last wish fulfilled…”
Vivienne was seething with rage.
She slapped Eliza’s face hard.
Eliza screamed while falling to the floor with the plate.
Her left cheek was instantly red and swollen.
However, she was smiling as she covered her cheek.
The sleazy smile made Vivienne feel she had walked into a trap.
She glanced at the floor.
The pastries were vanilla cupcakes.
Eliza lied just to get under her skin.
She calmed down soon. “You wanna plot against me? Then you have to pay a bigger price.”
Saying this, she slapped Eliza’s face again before Eliza could react.
This time, she slapped Eliza’s other cheek, and it burned right away.
She then quickly picked up a vanilla cupcake and stuffed it into Eliza’s mouth.
‘Didn’t Sebastian tell you to respect the deceased? You’ll pay for what you say…”
Hearing the commotion, Sebastian strode downstairs while holding Lucy’s hand.
‘Vivienne!”
He yanked her hard, his expression terrifyingly darkening.
Caught off guard, Vivienne fell backward. Her back slammed into a glass cabinet, and the sharp pain made her frown.
Sebastian…”
Tears streamed down Eliza’s cheeks as she pitifully looked at Sebastian with her doe-like eyes.
He raised his hand to stroke her face, but he didn’t for fear of hurting her.
Then he turned to glare at Vivienne, spitting, “Apologize!”
Enduring the pain, Vivienne met his gaze, totally unflinching.
he thought, “I can’t believe how stupid he is.
He took that phony’s side without hesitation, not caring about what had happened at all. How could he?”
he said word by word, “In your dreams.”
Sebastian’s expression darkened to the utmost.
Vivienne, no matter how much I love you, I’ll never let you pick on Eli again.”
With that, he gripped Eliza’s wrist with his left hand, raised it, and swung.
In the next second, a crisp smack rang out.
Five finger marks swelled on Vivienne’s right cheek instantly.
The room fell dead silent.
Chapter 2 We’re Done
She clearly heard the sound of her heart shatter and knew nothing could ever fix it again.
She let out a few low chuckles, exuding a sharp, dangerous aura.

Then she reached out, grabbed Sebastian’s arm, strode forward, pivoted, and bent down slightly.
She neatly flipped Sebastian over her shoulder.
Terrified, Lucinda burst into tears.
“Bad Mommy! You hit Daddy after you slapped Eliza! Get out! Get out of here! Now!”
Driven by a mixture of emotions, Vivienne could no longer hold back.
She stared at Sebastian next to her feet, her eyes bloodshot.
“We’re done, Sebastian.”
