Chapter 7 Yell
A bit surprised, Frederick arched an eyebrow and adjusted his glasses, saying, “I thought you were here to thank me.”
Vivienne’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Pursing her lips, she said, “You’re right, Dr. Kingsley. I indeed should thank
you properly.”
Frederick was supposed to get proper rest today to prepare for his official start, but he was here for the surgery per her
request.
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking about giving me any valuable gifts.”
His voice was low and soft, tinged with a faint chuckle. “We can’t take bribes.”
“I wasn’t thinking of that,” she said, tugging at her lips.
She was thinking of giving him money.
In comparison to gifts, she found cash more practical and useful.
Frederick keenly noticed the fleeting smile on her face.
Her charming eyes, upturned at the corners, curved slightly because of the smile, and with the bruise gone, her smooth, fair skin was practically glowing.
She continued, “Dr. Kingsley, I owe you a big one. If you need me to do anything, feel free to let me know.”
“Can I add you on WhatsApp?”
“Sure thing.”
She pulled out her phone.
After friending him, she saw his username was “1107” and couldn’t help but wonder what it stood for.
Then she realized he hadn’t answered her earlier question.
As she was about to ask him again, Roderick walked toward them.
She nodded at Roderick to greet him.
Frederick gazed at her retreating figure. Till she vanished into the distance, he lowered his head and stared at her profile for a long time before finally adding a single-word note-“Her”.”

Vivienne went to the R&D center before returning to Rose Manor.
The purchase of the licensed software had gone smoothly-well, not entirely.

The good news was that it could be activated after payment.
The bad news was that the only available version was the old one they had bought.
In other words, they couldn’t upgrade or obtain technical support at all.
Once again, she thought of replacing it with domestic software.
In fact, she had talked to Sebastian about this a bunch of times already.
He had always felt that domestic software was missing essential tools, which was a waste of money. He’d rather stick to lining foreign companies’ pockets.
Vivienne announced the new direction in work. They’d stop designing Vanta X3 chips and begin upgrading Vanta X2 Plus chips
It was already nine in the evening by the time she went back to Rose Manor.
Ivy was coaxing Lucinda to bed.
Lucinda shook her head firmly. “I wanna wait for Daddy and Eliza to come home.”
Upon seeing Vivienne, Ivy said to Lucinda with a grin, “Mrs. Hartwell’s back.
“Ms. Hartwell, would you like Mrs. Hartwell to tuck you in tonight?”
Lucinda’s face fell at once.
‘Mommy’s gonna divorce Daddy. Soon, she won’t be my mommy.”
Vivienne hadn’t seen Lucinda in a week.
She had missed Lucinda, yet now, all she felt was disappointment.
She said nothing while changing her shoes and then headed to the study directly.
Looking at Lucinda, Ivy said with a sigh, “Ms. Hartwell, Mrs. Hartwell was in emergency care for a month in Rivemont just to give birth to you.”
Lucinda adjusted the red wig on her head in the mirror and shrugged.
“Blame the earthquake. Don’t pin it on me. You made it sound like it wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t had me.”
Ivy was left speechless.
She thought, “Her words have Ms. Benton written all over them again,
“Ms. Benton was abroad for a few years, and she came back with a bunch of crazy theories. Now, she even turns Ms. Hartwell against Mrs. Hartwell, her own mother. This is so unforgivable!”

Soon, Eliza and Sebastian came back.
Eliza went to the bathroom to draw a bath for him.
Seeing Vivienne’s shoes, he asked Ivy, “Where’s Vivienne?”
Ivy replied, “Mrs. Hartwell is in the study.”
Sebastian was about to walk away after seeing Vivienne in the study, but he couldn’t help but turn around when he heard her typing.
He had to admit she was stunningly pretty.
It wasn’t about her outfit or makeup. It was her own temperament that did all the talking.
she could be as passionate as the rising sun or as detached and aloof as the new moon. Either side made her stand out
ffortlessly.
Whenever he took her to a party, Celina was the only one who’d stand next to her.
Because no one wanted to be overshadowed.
potting him at the door, Vivienne handed him a printed and stapled document.
It’s good to see you back. Take a look at this,” she said.
Noticing she wasn’t wearing their wedding ring anymore, he pulled a long face.
Where’s your wedding ring?”
I tossed it away. You should, too, since we’re getting a divorce.”
he said this extremely flatly as if she were merely talking about today’s weather.
is his gaze fell upon the words “Divorce Agreement”, he tore the papers into pieces right away.
You want a divorce? On what grounds?!”
he looked at him calmly. “Dr. Kingsley operated on Lillian.”
Yeah, well… I didn’t agree to this!”
Fine. Let’s take this to court. Do you want the summons delivered to the front desk of Corelynx Technologies Building?”
He suddenly snapped, getting all worked up, “I dare you! Vivienne, you’re getting carried away because I’ve spoiled you too nuch! Over the past six years, I’ve always pampered you and never let anything or anyone upset you. Every time you got nad, I always gave in and compromised first. And you? You’ve always been so condescending. You forced me to get rid of Eli, who had no one to rely on. She had no choice but to come back, and then you slapped her twice! You know what? She spoke ‘or you and tried to cover for you in front of my mom because she wanted this family to work. My mom wanted to teach you a esson and ended up in the ICU because of you. Why are you doing this to me, Vivienne? How dare you propose a divorce!

How dare you!”
Vivienne gawked at his face.
He had single eyelids, a straight nose, and a pair of thin, sharp lips.
She had seen him looking at her with affection, grinning heartily, and pulling a poker face, but seeing him gritting his teeth
was a first.
A surge of bitterness and heartache overwhelmed her.
Stop twisting the truth, Sebastian. You and I both know what exactly happened. I always came to you to patch things up efore you gave in reluctantly. I fed you sliced fruit, massaged you, and ironed your shirts… You would never compromise nless I swallowed my pride first. And I admit I have my pride, but I’m never condescending. I slapped Eliza only because sh eserved it. And even if Lillian dies, she asked for it. The same goes for you, Sebastian. You totally deserve it-all of you!”
liza stood at the study door in a silk beige dress.
er eyes darkened for a second, and she pulled a half-smile.
e thought, “Go ahead and yell as loud as you want. This only makes tomorrow’s show better.”
