Chapter 30 OmniCore
Chapter 30 OmniCore
When Vivienne learned that Lucy fell ill, she got nervous.
But thinking about what had happened recently, she calmed down quickly.
She asked softly, “Aren’t your dad and Eliza at home?”
Lucy said sweetly, “I only want you to stay with me. Mommy, I want you to tell me a story. Can you come over now?”
Vivienne paused for a moment before asking, “Do you remember what you said a couple of days ago?”
“Lucinda, don’t treat people like toys, calling them over when you need them and then kicking them away when you don’t. If you want me to come back and take care of you, you should first apologize to me for what you did before.”
Lucy immediately grew impatient. “Lecturing me again? Forget it, Ms. Lancaster.”
She hung up in irritation.
Lucy looked at Sebastian. “Dad, did Mommy figure out I was faking sick?”
Sebastian didn’t reply.
In the past, no matter how busy Vivienne was, she would drop everything to take care of Lucy when learning the child was
sick.
And she would stay up all night, not leaving Lucy for a second.
However, Vivienne chose to ignore Lucy just because of the interview at Lunaris Technologies. Was she so eager to work for
someone else?
In the taxi, Vivienne felt uneasy. She took out her phone and called Ivy.
[vy was taken aback. “Did the young lady catch a fever?”
In the morning, she saw Lucy chatting and laughing with Eliza over breakfast.
Vivienne said, “Please take care of her. Call me if anything comes up.”
Ivy said, “Okay”.
She went upstairs to check on Lucy.
Sebastian received a call from his secretary and drove off in a hurry.
Lucy huffed. “Eliza, why did you ask me to call Mommy? It ruined my good mood.”

Eliza coaxed, “To test if your mommy still loves you.”
“If she doesn’t come, that means she doesn’t love me?”
“If I were your mommy and learned you got sick, I would get anxious and rush back home.”
“I got it. Mommy doesn’t love me. I don’t love her either. Humph!”
Lucy felt awful inside.
Who else could her mom love? That new classmate Harriett? Why her?
When Ivy found out Eliza had asked Lucy to fake sick, she cursed under her breath.
“What a shameless woman.”
She texted Vivienne, “Don’t worry. She’s fine.”
Her message relieved Vivienne a lot.
The taxi pulled up to the entrance of Lunacroft Technologies.
Vivienne got out and adjusted her scarf that always slipped, heading inside.
Someone was waiting for her, and she was ushered to the vice president’s office.
Vivienne had assumed that with the company newly acquired, the new head would be a sharp, articulate middle-aged person
To her surprise, it was an elderly man with grey hair.
His name was Antoine Ravenshaw.
When she entered the office, Antoine was dozing on the sofa, with Tom and Jerry playing on the screen.
After being woken by his assistant, Antoine calmly glanced at Vivienne and patted the seat beside him.
“Ms. Lancaster, come quick. Let’s watch it together. I brewed black tea, and there are cookies.”
Vivienne sat down, stunned.
Antoine brought over the tea and cookies.
He crunched on the cookies, sipping black tea in between.
Looking at Antoine’s amiable face, Vivienne had a fleeting illusion that she was looking at her own grandfather.
After three cups of black tea and three episodes of Tom and Jerry, Vivienne started to fidget.
“Mr. Ravenshaw…”

Antoine munched on a cookie and looked at her with a smile. “What is it, Ms. Lancaster?”
“Please call me Vivienne.”
“I can’t. We’re in the office, and you’re Ms. Lancaster, the chief chip engineer I recruited.”
So she was officially hired?
Vivienne remained calm and handed Antoine the 100-day integration plan she’d made.
Antoine set down the cookies and took the plan with both hands, putting on his reading glasses and nodding, “Well-written, but I can’t understand a word of it.”
Vivienne was baffled.
“Ms. Lancaster, whether I understand it or not doesn’t matter. What matters is you know your stuff. Halcroft’s management style is that everyone does their own job and only discusses with each other when there’s an issue. As a leader, I fully trust the people I choose.”
Vivienne was taken aback, nodding.
Antoine took another cookie and munched on it.
“Ms. Lancaster, our chip production line hasn’t gotten a name yet. You’re in charge of it, so please name it.”
“Me?” Vivienne gave a dry laugh.
She didn’t establish Lunacroft Technologies, and she wasn’t a name expert.
She didn’t dare take on that task.
Antoine said, “Alright, I’ll make a call.”
He didn’t even bother to stand up and dialed a number right in front of her.
Truly, he had full faith in the person he hired.
Only the hum of the air conditioning was heard in the large office.
Vivienne heard the voice of the man talking to Antoine on the phone.
It was gentle yet authoritative.
Somehow, she found it familiar.
After hanging up, Antoine asked Vivienne with a smile, “OmniCore. Do you like the name?”
Vivienne was struck by the bold name and said earnestly, “I love it.”
Chapter 30 OmniCore
“I’m glad you like it. From today, OmniCore is in your hands. Do whatever you want with it!”
In that instant, Vivienne felt a glimmer of hope as if the sunlight broke through the clouds, flooding the room.
Her world lightened with this ray of hope.
All day, Vivienne familiarized herself with the various departments of Lunaris Technologies.
In the evening, she asked Ivy if Lucy still had a fever.
Ivy said the child was fine and went to school today.
Vivienne doubted it.
In the past, if Lucy felt a little unwell, she would throw a fit and refuse to go to school.
Now that she had left home, Lucy suddenly behaved better?
Returning to Crownvale Estates, Vivienne saw Frederick leading Hattie toward their apartment building.
The little girl held a camera with a sullen face.
Just as Vivienne was about to call out to them, she received a call from Philip.
“Ms. Lancaster, Mr. Whitford locked Madam Whitford up in the prayer room because she offended Mrs. Farley. It’s been 24 hours, and she hasn’t eaten anything…”
Vivienne frowned deeply. “Where is Jonathan?”
‘He’s at Synergy Hub.”
