Chapter 441
Celeste and Jordyn continued playing games at the arcade.
Just then, Trevor’s phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he stepped away to answer the call.
It was Wynn.
Ever since the Velotra press conference, she hadn’t been able to calm her heart because of Celeste, and also out of concern for InnovaTech’s future.
And the fact that Trevor hadn’t contacted her at all since yesterday afternoon, and not even a message by mid–morning today, only made her growing anxiety worse.
In order to force herself to stay calm and not keep checking whether he had reached out, she had deliberately left her phone behind during her morning meetings and at lunch. 1
But in the end, she hadn’t been able to hold out long.
After finishing lunch just now, she couldn’t resist checking her phone–only to discover that he had called her once at around 11:
00 am.
Furthermore, on her office desk, there was now a market research report on the future of autonomous vehicles.
After reading it, she realized she had never really taken the time to understand the true scope of the autonomous vehicle market.
Only now did she learn that it was far bigger than she had originally imagined. In other words, InnovaTech still had significant growth potential.
Beyond that, Trevor had also included several directions for future technical development in the report.
After reading it, her confidence in InnovaTech’s future returned, and the anxiety that had been gnawing at her finally settled.
Thinking of all this, she calmed her excitement and said, “I was in a meeting earlier and didn’t bring my phone, so I missed your call.”
“Mhm, I know. Someone told me.”
So, that meant that when she didn’t pick up, he must have checked with others in the company to make sure she was okay before he could relax. 2
Wynn smiled a little and added, “I’ve read the report too. I know what I should do next.” 1
“Mhm,” Trevor replied. “The autonomous vehicle market is huge. If you can find ways to improve the product’s weaknesses, InnovaTech still has a lot of potential.” 6
“Alright, I understand.” Hearing him say these things, Wynn’s voice couldn’t help but soften a little more.
Then she asked, “How was the parent–teacher meeting with Jordyn? Have you had lunch yet?”
“Yeah, it’s all done.” 1
Wynn still wanted to keep chatting, but just then, another call came in. She hurriedly excused herself and hung up to deal with work. 1
Celeste didn’t pay much attention to what Trevor was doing, nor was she interested in knowing who he was talking to on the phone. 1
She glanced at the time and ended the game after seeing that Jordyn’s afternoon class was about to start.
Jordyn, reluctant to part with her, clung to her and said, “Mom, I want you to take me back to school.”
Trevor didn’t interrupt, waiting quietly for her decision.

Since the school was nearby, Celeste agreed.
This time, Trevor didn’t follow them. Instead, he looked at Celeste and said, “Thank you.”
What was there to be thankful for? She was just sending Jordyn one in a while. The truly exhausting days were already behind her.
Celeste didn’t respond. She simply lowered her head, patted Jordy’s head, and said, “Let’s go.” 1
“Okay!” Jordyn beamed.
Still holding Celeste’s hand, she said goodbye to Trevor, then got the car and left with her.
Trevor watched them leave before finally getting into his own car and driving away. 14
