Chloe burst into tears, furious.
She’d gone to such lengths to play the pitiful victim, but I’d just indirectly confirmed everything was true.
Trevor glared at me viciously:
“What do you mean by this?! With so many classmates in the chat, you deliberately tried
to humiliate her!”
I nodded:
“Otherwise, why would I tag her? Did you think I wanted to invite her for coffee?”
Trevor’s face turned beet red, his neck bulging with anger, and he raised a fist high.
But the next instant…
“What do you think you’re doing?!”
Trevor spun around in surprise, coming face-to-face with my dad’s icy glare.
“It seems I’ve been too lenient with you. Otherwise, how could you have the audacity to lay a hand on my daughter?!”
The person Trevor feared most in the world was my dad.
With just a few words, Dad could effortlessly strip him of everything he had.
“No… no! Mr. Davis, Daisy was bullying her classmates, and I just couldn’t stand it, so I thought I’d teach her a lesson…”
Cold sweat poured down his face. He couldn’t even meet my dad’s eyes.
“Nonsense! Whatever my daughter chooses to do is her own business! What right do you have to discipline her?! You’re nothing but a glorified pet I kept around to amuse her! Do you really think you’re someone important?”
Having dominated the business world for decades, my dad saw right through all his petty,
underhanded schemes.
Before, he’d held back because of me, but now, he held nothing back, his words sharp as daggers, cutting to the bone.
“Mr. Davis, I know I was wrong… I just got carried away for a moment today… Please, don’t be angry!”
Trevor, who’d just been shouting about his ‘integrity,’ dropped to his knees with a thud, his
movement surprisingly practiced.
What a flexible little worm!
“Wrong? Go tell that to your little flings out there!”
With a wave of my dad’s hand, the bodyguards outside streamed in.
They grabbed Trevor off the floor and tossed him out the front door.
Like a piece of trash.
He cried out in pain, repeatedly:
“Mr. Davis! I really know I messed up! Please, just one more chance!”
My dad just rolled his eyes:
“Turn all the sponsorship money we’ve given him over the years into an IOU. Make him
<
pay it all back.”
Using my dad’s money to bully his daughter? Why should he get all the perks?
In the massive room, only the three of us remained in an instant.
My dad’s gaze slowly shifted to Julian:
“Julian, remember this: nothing else in this house matters as much as my daughter’s
happiness.”
Julian’s face held a seriousness I’d never seen before:
“As long as I’m here, I’ll never let Daisy suffer a single hardship.”
And true to his word, from then on, he dedicated himself to making me happy.
One day, I finally had a rare chance to grab coffee with my best friend, Scarlett. She
leaned in, speaking softly:
“We can all see how good Julian is to you, but what about that incident he had… You really don’t mind?”
She paused for a moment:
“That whole thing caused a huge scandal, and teachers still use him as a cautionary tale.”
I knew she meant well, so I just shrugged:
“Actually, he was framed back then.”
Scarlett’s eyes
widened in surprise, her coffee cup nearly slipping from her hand:
“Framed?! Why didn’t he say anything?!”
I sighed:
“I don’t get it either! He suffered such a huge injustice and never even cleared his name.
What an idiot!”
<
“I’m leaving this to you. I know you’re famous for your connections. Whether his name
gets cleared or not is all on you now!”
I solemnly patted Scarlett’s shoulder.
She looked absolutely burdened with responsibility:
“Don’t worry! I won’t let you down, Daisy!”
As I pushed the door open, my eyes met Julian’s, who was standing right outside.
“What are you doing here?”
I was a little surprised.
He, as always, simply draped a jacket over my shoulders:
“I overheard you two just now. Daisy… there are some things I think, it’s time you knew.”
