Chapter 13
Seeing Mateo’s appearance, Valerie’s heart was always filled with unease.
She sat paralyzed with fear on the ground, clutching at Mateo’s pant leg.
“Mateo, can you give me another chance?”
“I really know I was wrong, I won’t do it again in the future, okay?”
Mateo looked down at her with the same gaze he used to look at Catalina in the past.
But he never gave Catalina a chance to catch her breath, so why does Valerie deserve one? •
He sneered, then kicked her away with a cold voice, “Valerie, you are really disgusting.”
“You are now packing up and getting out of my house!”
Valerie was taken aback, but she knew that Mateo was telling the truth.
“Mateo, don’t treat me like this, we just got married not long ago!”
“Others will see our jokes, please give me a chance, I beg you…”
Mateo lifted her chin, watching as her tears fell down, feeling a hint of satisfaction.
“Forgive you? You deliberately targeted Catalina, what right do you have to seek my forgiveness?”
“Daydreaming!”
He harshly slapped her face, Valerie was stunned for a moment, then suddenly smiled.
“So in the end, it was still because of that woman?”
“What about me? What am I?”
Mateo couldn’t be bothered to look at him anymore, just glanced at him lightly.
“Nothing counted.”
“I will have the divorce agreement sent to you by the housekeeper, and once you have signed it, get out immediately!”
Valerie chuckled softly,
“Mateo, why do you get to decide when we get married and when we break up?”
“Am I just your plaything? To be discarded at your whim!”

Chapter 13
Mateo chuckled lightly, “Is that so?”
Upon hearing this response, Valerie’s heart shattered into pieces.
“Mateo, you really had no heart!”
“No wonder all the people who loved you had to leave you! It was you who destroyed everyone’s happiness with your own hands. Clearly, you are the one who should go to hell!”
“Why should we bear all your suffering?”
Mateo was taken aback, with images of Catalina flashing through his mind.
He restrained his anger and grabbed Valerie’s neck tightly.
“Can you say that again?”
Valerie blushed and burst into laughter.
“Then just strangle me, just like you did to Catalina!”
Mateo’s heart raced with panic as he roughly threw her to the ground, filled with disgust.
Valerie looked at Mateo with pain and said, “Why can’t you just give me a chance? I was sincere to you too…”
Mateo wanted to laugh, but she had killed the most important person in his heart.
He hated Catalina and wanted to possess her, not allowing anyone to touch her for a moment.
He thought he couldn’t bear to part with her, he loved her.
But he never had the courage to face this feeling, if it wasn’t for her sudden departure, Mateo might never have under- stood his feelings for Catalina.
“You didn’t deserve it.”
“Sign the paper and get out of here!”
Valerie could tell that Mateo was determined to make her leave, and she had no intention of pretending otherwise.
“Mateo, do you really think you were not wrong?”
“Forcing her to apologize to me, personally putting on the burning ring for her, making her crawl into the dog cage and bark like a dog, even humiliating her, aren’t all these things done by you! All because the person you love is me! That’s why you did all this!”
These words stuck in Mateo like a thorn.
“Shut up!”
“If it weren’t for what happened back then, the person I loved would have always been Catalina! It wouldn’t have been you!”
Valerie was taken aback and let out a cold laugh.
“Do you think you can justify yourself to me? The things you did with her in the office, do you think I don’t know?”
“Hating her on one hand, yet still being with her, wanting to possess her completely, can you justify yourself to me?” Mateo fell silent for a moment, only to hear Valerie say, “I will not divorce you, unless I die. If you insist on forcing me to leave, then I will expose the fact that you deliberately framed the Higgin Group! I am not happy, and neither will you be!”
