Silence fell upon the hall.
Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The Emily who had once lived and died for Simon was saying she regretted not rejecting him?
All eyes were on Emily, filled with shock, except for Simon, who stood before her, impeccably dressed, his expression cold, his eyes devoid of any ripple.
“How many times have you played this game of ‘push and pull’?” his low voice carried undisguised sarcasm.”I’ve told you, no matter how many trouble you cause, you can’t even get any of my attention.”
He leaned down slightly, his thin lips parting, word by word, as if to crush her last shred of dignity-
‘I don’t like you, you heard me. Even though you’re my mate, I don’t like you.”
After he finished speaking, the guests around finally recovered from their shock, and whispers rippled through the hall like waves.
“I knew it. How could Emily suddenly regret not rejecting alpha Simon?”
“Yeah, before, she bound her wolf 108 times just to get alpha Simon to look at her once.”
“Tsk tsk, what a pathetic wolfless lycan…”
Emily clenched her fingers, her nails digging deep into her palms, but she felt no pain.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say it again-
She hadn’t played tricks, she truly, no longer loved him!
But before she could speak, Mr. Davis interrupted sharply, “Sorry, everyone, we failed to properly raise our daughter, which led her to do something so shameful as stealing!”
He waved his hand coldly and said to the bodyguards, “Take her to the hotel’s cold storage room and let her freeze overnight to sober up!”
Emily’s pupils constricted, and she looked up sharply.”I told you I didn’t steal…”
But no one listened to her explanation.
Two bodyguards stepped forward, roughly seizing her wrists. She struggled desperately, but a sharp pain suddenly struck the back of her neck!
She staggered back, blinded by the blow from the bodyguard’s iron rod.
In the last second before she passed out, she met Simon’s eyes.
He stood there, watching her coldly, without even a flicker of his brow.
Later, Emily was awakened by the biting cold.
Frost covered her eyelashes, her breath formed clouds of white mist, her limbs were stiff from the cold, and even her blood felt like it had frozen.
The cold storage room was minus thirty degrees Celsius, and she was only wearing a thin slip dress.
Her exposed skin was already frozen purple.
“I can’t die…” she moved her body with difficulty.”I can’t die…”
The werewolf from her new Pack was coming to pick her up soon.
She had to leave here.
Just in few days, she could start a new life.
She used all her strength, inching her way to the cold storage door.
Her fingers were frozen purple, but she still desperately pounded on the heavy metal door.
She instinctively shifted to her wolf form to fight against the bone-chilling cold.
“Help… me…”
Is there anyone… help me…”

Her voice was hoarse, but there was no response from outside.
Until-
“Stop knocking.”
A soft, laughing voice came from outside.
Emily froze.
It was Clara.

“Everyone is celebrating my birthday banquet, who has time for you?” She chuckled, her voice brimming with unconcealed triumph.”By the way, funny thing-”
“It’s your birthday today too, right?”
“Unfortunately, no one remembers.”
Emily bit her lip tightly, the metallic taste of blood spreading in her mouth.
“I’m being celebrated in a luxurious banquet hall, while you’re freezing to death here…” Clara chuckled.”Emily, you were the future lycan Queen, and I was an omega orphan from a welfare home. But look at you now,”
‘Aren’t you still beneath me? Like a dog, begging and wagging your tail.”
Emily closed her eyes, a wave of sweetness and blood rising in her throat.
Just then, Clara’s phone rang.
She seemed to deliberately put it on speakerphone, allowing Emily to hear the voice on the other end clearly-
“Clara, where are you?”
It was Simon.
His voice was low and gentle, with a pampering tone Emily had never heard before.
“My head is a little dizzy…” Clara’s voice immediately became weak. I’m in the lounge…”
“Wait, I’ll be right there.”
The call ended, and silence returned to the cold storage room.
Listening to Simon’s tender voice towards Clara, Emily slowly closed her eyes.
For some reason, she suddenly remembered the long days and nights she had written about in her diary.
On the yellowed pages, the handwriting was smudged with tears, every stroke a record of her despair.
She wrote about Simon booking the entire revolving restaurant for Clara’s birthday, just to let her see the snow;
She wrote about how he stayed up all night by Clara’s bedside when she had a fever, even missing The Alpha Conference;
She wrote about the tender look in his eyes when he looked at Clara, like melting spring snow, but when he looked at her, only bone-chilling frost remained.
For so many days and nights, she was like a pathetic voyeur, hiding in the shadows, watching them fall in love.
Thankfully, now, she finally didn’t love him anymore.
This realization caused Emily to twitch the corner of her mouth, completely falling into darkness.
