When Emily woke up again, she found herself lying on the bed in the villa, back in human form.
Loud laughter and anime dialogue came from outside, the volume so high it made the walls tremble.
She sat up and pushed open the door, seeing Clara sitting cross-legged on the living room carpet, snacking and laughing uproariously at the
television.
“Emily, you’re awake?” Clara turned, a lingering smile on her face. “Sorry, did I disturb you with my anime?”
She deliberately crunched her chips loudly. “I didn’t feeling well these days. The air is good in this villa area, so Simon let me stay here for a few days to recuperate… Emily, you don’t mind, right?”
Emily instinctively looked towards the sofa-
Simon was sitting there, his long fingers flipping through financial reports, his expression cold and focused behind his gold-rimmed glasses.
The television was so loud, yet he didn’t even frown.
Emily suddenly remembered something written in her diary:
[He lost his temper again today because I was sitting next to him eating an apple. He said the chewing sound was affecting his work and asked me to get out of his area.]
[Remember, when he’s in the study, even your breathing should be light.]
And now…
Clara crumpled her chip bag noisily, the anime showing exaggerated fight scenes, yet Simon didn’t even lift his head.
The difference between love and indifference was so clear.
Before she could speak, Simon suddenly said, “If it weren’t for that accident, this house would have been yours.”
His tone was indifferent, his gaze still fixed on the documents.”She took your place, why should you report to her like she’s the host?”
“Yes, no need to report to me.” Emily’s tone was calm.”Stay as long as you want. You’re not a guest anyway.”
Simon’s finger pausing slightly as he turned the page, finally lifting his gaze to look at her, his eyes behind his glasses slightly narrowed.
“This isn’t like her. Usually, she’d either cry hysterically or silently endure with red eyes. She wouldn’t be so… calm.” His wolf frowned, sensing something amiss.
But this anomaly only lingered in his mind for a second.
He looked away and continued to handle his documents.
After all, he never thought much about anything related to her, let alone cared.
Emily didn’t care about his thoughts and went straight inside and closed the door.
For the whole day, Emily locked herself in her room, listening to the incessant jarring sounds from outside.
Clara turned the TV volume to maximum to watch a variety show, walked around in high heels on the hardwood floor, and even opened Simon’s prized red wine to go with fried chicken.
Each of these things stepped on Simon’s pet peeves.
In the past, if she accidentally touched his bookshelf, she would receive a cold stare; if she walked in slippers making a noise, he would frown and stop her; let alone touching his wine… but now, she clearly heard Simon just say helplessly, “Eat slowly, no one’s going to grab it from you.”
It wasn’t until dinner time that Emily opened the door.
The table was already laden with dishes, and Clara was sitting next to Simon, smiling happily.”Simon, these are all my favorite dishes!”
“Mm, Simon’s gaze was tender.”I always remember everything about you.”
A blush rose on Clara’s face. Turning her head, she saw Emily standing at the doorway and immediately called out, “Emily, come and eat!”
Emily silently went to the other end of the table and sat down.
Clara was like his Luna, and she was like an uninvited guest.
She picked up some food and after a couple of bites, she suddenly felt an itch in her throat.

She frowned and tasted another dish, but the discomfort grew stronger.
“Emily, what’s that?” Clara suddenly exclaimed. “What are those red spots on your hand? Are you allergic?”
Emily looked down and saw that her arms were indeed covered in red rashes.
Her breathing grew more rapid, and she tried to speak but couldn’t make a sound.
She pointed to her purse with difficulty.
There was emergency anti-allergy medicine inside.
Clara got up in a panic to check, but accidentally knocked over a bowl of hot soup-
‘Ah…”
The scalding soup splashed all over Emily’s already rash-covered arms, the intense pain instantly bringing tears to her eyes.
She saw Simon dart forward, but-
He shielded Clara in his arms!
“Are you burnt?” He anxiously checked Clara’s hand, his voice so gentle it was dripping.”How could you be so careless?”
Emily’s vision blurred, and before she lost consciousness, the last thing she saw was Simon carrying Clara away…
When she woke up again, she was lying in a hospital bed.

A nurse was changing her IV drip.”Your allergy was so severe, you almost died. You’ve suffered too many injuries and shocks, your wolf is extremely weak, it has disappeared. I don’t know if your wolf can ever reappear.
Also, you have level two burns, and it’s been two days, yet your mate hasn’t come to see you?”
Emily opened her mouth, but she heard voices from outside the door:
“I heard alpha Simon booked the entire floor?”
“Yeah, just for the burns on Miss Davis’s hand.”
“He’s so spoiling, the wounds will be healed by the time he gets here…”
Emily slowly closed her eyes. “I don’t have a mate.”
