Chapter 1037
Could Sierra actually be Sienna Hawk?
In that moment, Halsey knew for sure. Sierra was Sienna!
No wonder Sierra had felt so familiar–she was someone from Halsey’s past, just hiding behind a new face, getting close on purpose.
How funny.
Except… Sierra hadn’t really gotten any benefits from this little stunt. Instead, she had ended up in the hospital after Shaun nearly knocked her out.
“Thanks, doctor,” Halsey said.
The doctor smiled. “No problem.”
Halsey walked out of the office and ran right into Shaun, his tall frame blocking the hallway.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
She smirked. “Just asking about Sierra’s condition.”
Shaun’s lips pressed into a cold, thin line. “You really care about her, huh?”
Halsey raised her brows. “She’s my friend. It’s normal to care about her. What’s wrong with that?”
“You still haven’t asked about how I’m doing,” Shaun shot back.
That made Halsey laugh. “You? Why would you need me fussing over you? She’s the one who’s hurt.”
Shaun stepped closer. “But I got scared half to death.”
Before she could respond, he wrapped an arm around her waist. “And who told you to bring Sierra into
our house?”
Halsey tilted her head, feigning innocence. “Sorry, I forgot to mention it. Her situation’s rough. Her dad beats her, and she had nowhere to go, so I let her stay a couple of nights.”
Shaun gave a low, bitter laugh.
“Oh, so you let her stay at our place. What’s next–are you gonna let her have your husband, too?”
Halsey knew exactly what he meant, but she played dumb. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
He sighed, pinching her cheek. “Just remember this–not everyone deserves your kindness.”
She grinned. “Got it. So you’re jealous, huh? You’re mad that I cared about Sierra but not you. You’re

seriously jealous of another woman? You really are petty.”

He pulled her tight against him, his arm firm around her shoulders. “Stop talking about Sierra. Just hearing her name ruins my mood.”
Halsey hugged his arm and teased, “Come on. Admit it–she is kinda pretty. And her body’s not bad, either.
Shaun’s eyes narrowed. “What are you trying to say?”
“I’m just-”
He cut her off, “If you want her to live longer, don’t let this happen again. Next time, I’ll bash her head in.”
Halsey blinked. She decided to accept the threat on Sierra’s behalf.
She pouted. “You’re so mean. With that attitude, no other girl’s ever gonna come near you.”
“That’s fine,” Shaun said simply. “I only need you near me.”
Her lips curled up. She rose on her toes, looped her arms around his neck, and kissed him.
Meanwhile, Sierra stayed in the hospital overnight. By the next day, no one had come to see her. Not even Halsey had called.
Restless and annoyed, Sierra grabbed her phone and dialed a number. “Hey, Zada, I’m still at the hospital. Can you come visit me?”
Zada owed Sierra her life, so she rushed over right away. The second she saw Sierra, she gasped.
“What happened? Why are you in the hospital? Oh my gosh, your forehead!”
Sierra touched the bandage gently. “I tripped and hit my head.”
Zada frowned. “Wait. Weren’t you staying at Halsey’s house? Did this happen there?”
