Chapter 1042
The students around Halsey and Sierra started whispering.
“Halsey’s fiancé was in the shower, and Sierra walked in on him?”
“Yeah… That’s something anyone would misunderstand.”
“Wait a second! Sierra was just a guest. Why was she even in the master bedroom?”
“She knew Halsey had a fiancé. Doesn’t she get boundaries at all?”
“And walking around late at night in a strappy nightgown? Really?”
Sierra clenched her fists. She had been putting on this whole performance, but Halsey had flipped everything against her with just a few words.
Tears rolled down again as Sierra pressed a hand to her forehead. “I was looking for you when I went into
that room. Ow… My head hurts…”
Zada immediately leaned toward her. “Is your head injury acting up again?”
Sierra peeled back the bandage on her forehead, revealing a deep cut. “I think it’s bleeding again.”
Everyone gasped when they saw it.
“That’s a nasty wound!”
“Her fiancé really didn’t hold back.”
Sierra shot Halsey another taunting glance.
But Halsey only smiled calmly. “I’m sorry about the injury. My fiancé thought you were some kind of
prostitute who snuck in.”
“Prostitute?” Zada snapped, her face flushed. “You can’t say that about Sierra!”
Halsey pulled out her phone and tapped open a photo. “Then take a look at this.”
Sierra’s eyes widened. It was a picture of her. She was sitting on the floor, clutching her bleeding head, dressed in a strappy nightgown. Her damp skin looked pale under the lights, giving the photo an almost
suggestive look.
Sierra froze. She hadn’t expected Halsey to take a picture that night.
Halsey held the phone out for the others.
“See? This is what Sierra looked like. My fiancé said no decent guest would walk into a man’s shower dressed like that. So, yeah, he hit harder than he should have.”

The crowd murmured again.
“Gosh, why was Sierra’s dress so revealing?”
“She was a guest in someone else’s house, and she knew Halsey’s fiancé was there. What was she trying to do?”
“Forget Halsey and her fiancé! If I saw that, I’d misunderstand, too.”
Even Zada’s eyes flickered with doubt. “Sierra… Why were you dressed like that?“.
Sierra felt her stomach twist. She hadn’t expected Halsey to keep the evidence. Flustered, she stammered, “I… I…”
But Halsey cut her off smoothly. “Actually, Sierra, I’ve been meaning to ask you something. That nightgown you wore–it’s not cheap, is it? Looked like a designer piece to me.”
Sierra’s heart skipped a beat. She had been so focused on looking good for Shaun that she forgot the nightgown was branded.
The other students recognized it immediately.
“I know that one. It’s a new release from Dior’s collection this year.”
“I bought it, too. It was about 3,000 dollars.”
“Three grand?”
Zada sucked in a sharp breath. “Sierra, you wore a three–thousand–dollar nightgown? I thought your family was broke!”
Halsey gave a cold little laugh.
“Exactly. Your dad’s a gambler who hits you, your mom’s sick, and you’ve got younger siblings in school.
You told everyone you work three jobs just to scrape by, and you had to crash at my place because you couldn’t afford rent. So tell me, Sierra. Where’d you get the money for a three–thousand–dollar nightgown?
