Chapter 9
I went back to the family estate with Sebastian.
ebastian’s father, mother, and elder sister treated me very well. They even said they wanted to hold a wedding and Fad already set a date.
I overheard a conversation between Sebastian and his sister accidentally.
“Finally, you got her to fall for you.”
“It’s all because Raymond didn’t know how to cherish her.”
“When are you planning to have kids?”
Sebastian’s face was full of smiles.
“Don’t let mom and dad worry. Eleanor is amazing. She became like this because she wanted to save someone. Our children will definitely be as smart as she was when she was young.”
“Do
you like her that much?”
Sebastian nodded.
“Yes, very much. She’s simple. She makes me want to take care of her. She cries when I tease her, so cute, like a little
rabbit.
“You have no idea how pitiful it was to see her being scolded that day, hiding by the tombstone, crying.”
Sebastian’s sister laughed. “No wonder you always go there every year. This time, you finally got your chance.”
“It’s also because Raymond didn’t know how to cherish her. Such a pity.”
Everyone always said I wasn’t good enough. But Sebastian’s family thought it was Raymond who didn’t cherish me. They thought they had found a treasure. My eyes felt a little stingy.
On the wedding day, I wore a white dress. I looked beautiful.
Raymond stormed in, ignoring the bodyguards.
“Eleanor, come home with me. Our families had already agreed on our engagement.”
After some time apart, he looked haggard. Stubble grew on his chin. He seemed almost crazy, trying desperately to reach me.
“He doesn’t love you at all.
“He’s deceiving you.”

“I was the one who came first. Elea, be a good girl and come home with me.”
Sebastian looked even more handsome in a black suit.
“You talk about engagement. Do you have any proof?
“Elea chose me. I am her husband.”
Raymond’s eyes turned red.
“You must have forced her. Everyone knows that I’m the one she loves the most.
“She risked her life for me as a child.”
“Sebastian, her mind is stuck at seven years old. Isn’t it disgusting that you’re doing this?”
The guests below whispered among themselves. Sebastian’s parents’ expressions also darkened.
I whispered, “He asked me. I agreed.
“Thanks for looking after me all these years.
“It’s all in the past, Remy.”
He refused to give up. He strode onto the stage, grabbed my hand, and tried to pull me away.
“You said you would only marry me. I would hold a wedding even more beautiful than this. Marry me, okay?”
Sebastian was angry. “Raymond, who is disgusting now? Don’t force me.”
Finally, Raymond’s father appeared, putting an end to the farce, and even apologized to Sebastian’s parents.
On our wedding night, there was thunder and rain. I was alone in my room.
I felt like Sebastian might be upset. I didn’t dare to bother him, afraid he would dislike me.
I curled up under the covers, shivering. When he lifted the blanket, my forehead and neck were covered in sweat, and I hugged myself tightly.
“Don’t come over here… don’t come over here…”
The lights were turned on.
Sebastian looked at me in panic.
“Elea, what’s wrong?”
