Chapter 19
“Come with me and we both live.”
His expression was terrifyingly calm.
“Stay here, and everyone dies.”
Mia stared at him in horror.
“Sebastian, this is a fucking airport, not your personal playground!”
“I knew it–Mia’s too good–hearted,” he suddenly started laughing.
“How could I put you in an impossible situation?”
“This remote has three buttons–white, yellow, and blue. Only one of them stops the bomb.”
He shoved it into Mia’s hands.
“Everyone’s lives, including mine, are in your hands now.”
His plan was crystal clear–he was using everyone’s lives to force her to stay.
He didn’t even give a shit about his own life.
Mia’s eyes went wide with panic.
“You’re fucking insane! I won’t do this!”
She raised the remote, about to throw it away.
“If you toss that…” he said with this sick smile, “the bomb goes off immediately.”
She glared at him, her whole body shaking with rage.
“Sebastian.”
She spoke each word like a curse.
“Let everyone else go. Just you and me.”
Something about those words made him smile, and he nodded to his assistant.
Passengers and airport staff stampeded for the exits, leaving the terminal in dead silence.
She stared at him, looking like she’d made some kind of decision.
Mia took a deep breath.
She hit the white button. The countdown suddenly sped up.

Sebastian smiled like she’d just done something adorable.
It reminded him of when Mia had played a ghost bride at that haunted house, wearing that gorgeous white wedding dress,

Chapter 19
He’d lifted her veil himself, thinking she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.
She pressed yellow. The timer cut in half.
00:12:13
Sebastian swallowed hard.
He thought about that day at the botanical gardens when Mia had walked hand in hand with him through those golden tulip fields.
She had such tiny hands–he could wrap his whole palm around them.
Mia’s fingers were trembling, but her voice was ice–cold:
“Just fucking let me go…”
She hit blue. The timer went to zero.
00:00:00
A tear slid down Sebastian’s face.
He remembered that first night in that shitty basement apartment, when Mia had carried him on her back to the ER.
She’d saved him from rock bottom, but he’d dragged her straight to hell.
The explosion Mia was expecting never came.
Sebastian managed a broken smile:
“You won. I’ll let you walk away.”
Mia’s hands balled into fists, pissed as hell that he’d been messing with her head.
She turned and started walking.
But about a hundred feet away, she heard this massive BOOM.
Sebastian was sprawled in a puddle of blood, totally wrecked, clutching the actual detonator.
Mia just stood there staring at him, tears streaming down her face.
He’d hit the button himself.
He never planned on making it out alive.
The second Mia started playing his sick game, Sebastian had already lost everything.
If she’d given even half a shit about him, she never would’ve called his bluff like that.
A month later, at the London law firm.
The news that Sebastian was in critical condition and had become a vegetable shocked the world.
When Mia heard about it, she paused for just a second while organizing case files, then went back to work like nothing happened.
One night, her bank account suddenly got this massive deposit–just a bunch of cold zeros.
She went to the bank to ask about it, but they couldn’t find any extra info.

All they knew was the sender was listed as “Sb.”
She took that money and started a charity foundation to help poor kids all over the world.
She bought some flowers and had someone deliver them to Sebastian.
Not too expensive, not too cheap–exactly five hundred bucks.
The same amount he’d covered for her when those kids said she’d stolen class funds all those years ago.
The evening wind dried up her tears.
Maybe life really is just like seasons changing.
Sebastian was stuck in some endless winter, fast asleep.
So she’d be spring–alive and growing, ready to start fresh.
