Halsey looked up and saw Shaun’s tall, handsome figure step into view.
He had come.
Shaun had given a lecture here before, but that didn’t dampen the students‘ excitement. In fact, everyone seemed even more energized. The moment he walked in, the entire lecture hall buzzed with anticipation.
“Hello, Mr. Lane!”
“Mr. Lane, it’s been a while!”
“We thought you wouldn’t come back to class, but here you are! Our wish came true!”
The students were practically vibrating with excitement, all eyes glued to Shaun.
Today, he wore a custom–tailored black suit over a crisp white shirt with a perfectly knotted tie. His hands, holding a book, were long and elegant–exactly the kind that made those obsessed with hands unable to look away.
Shaun walked steadily up to the podium. His sharp, handsome eyes swept across the room with a calm, almost magnetic authority.
The chatter gradually quieted down–that was the power of someone in command. The huge lecture hall fell silent without a single sound.
Shaun finally spoke, his deep, smooth voice filling the room. “Good afternoon, everyone. I’m very happy to be back here to learn alongside all of you.”
Halsey sat in the back row, her eyes locked on Shaun. Though she was far from the front, she felt as if he was glowing, radiating an irresistible charm.
Her heart pounded in her chest.
From the corner of her eye, Halsey noticed Sierra on the side in the front of the room. Sierra was staring at Shaun as well, completely captivated. She had set her sights on Shaun, and she was determined to get
him.
Halsey sneered inwardly. She knew that Sierra was actually Sienna. Since Gilbert was locked away, Sienna had changed her entire look and turned herself into Sierra, clearly targeting Halsey and Shaun.
But Shaun was Halsey’s, and she would never let anyone take him from her.
Shaun addressed the class. “Actually, I’m not here to teach today.”
The students immediately reacted. “What? You’re not here to teach?”

“Are you just here to see us?”
“That’s such an honor!”
Shaun smirked. “Today, I’ve come to announce something.”
And he would announce it in front of all of Anteoch University.
Halsey’s eyes widened. She hadn’t known Shaun was coming, so naturally, she didn’t know what he was
about to announce.
The students grew impatient.
“What is it?”
“Come on, sir. Tell us already! Don’t keep us in suspense–we’re dying over here!”
Shaun held up a roll call sheet. “Let me take attendance first, just to make sure everyone’s here.”
He began calling names. “Cassandra Rivers!”
“Here!”
He went through several names until one familiar one came up. “Sierra Fletcher!”
Sierra’s heart leapt. Excited, she called back, “Here!”
Shaun looked up at her briefly.
Other students immediately chimed in. “Mr. Lane, do you know Sierra?”
“Yeah, you didn’t look at us like that when you called our names. Is she your favorite?”
Everyone teased Shaun and Sierra, making Sierra blush. Her vanity was thoroughly satisfied. She figured if she could have Shaun, she would become the envy of every other girl.
