Chapter 10
After I quit my job, I no longer had to spend extra time every day learning computer knowledge that I had
interest in.

I had studied jewelry design in university, so I could finally pick up my drawing tools once more and work in the industry
that I loved.
I was painting in the greenhouse in the afternoon when Jayce paid me a sudden visit.
He brought me a tiara inlaid with pearls and diamonds, which I immediately recognized as an antique tiara from the last century. I’d once seen it in a book.
I really liked the design on the tiara. The pearls on the tiara were also clear and lustrous, and they were arranged according to their sizes. Additionally, they were cleverly paired with diamonds to look like a lover’s tears upon the tiara.
Jayce gave this tiara to me. I told him that I hadn’t done anything to receive a reward, but he replied that it was a gift that he’d long prepared for his fiancée, so he was just giving it to its rightful owner.
My confusion had finally been cleared up. I’d always wondered who paid an exorbitant price to buy the tiara that had caught my eye before the bidding for it even began back during my 18th birthday. It turned out it’d been Jayce.
How could he have been so sure back then that I’d like this gift though?
So, Jayce explained to me that when he was 16, he’d suddenly fainted while on the Bengara Islands and had almost been washed out to sea by the waves. I’d been the one to rescue him with a lifebuoy.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he’d committed my appearance to memory. He’d felt that I was an angel descended from
heaven.
Coincidentally, his mother, Evelyn Tudor, had been my course instructor back in university. It was no wonder he knew my preferences like the back of his hand.
I said, “So, you decided to arrange for us to be married because I saved your life. I hadn’t really thought much about it when I rescued you back then though…”
In fact, I hadn’t even recognized him at first sight, which I felt terribly guilty about.
Yet, Jayce shook his head upon hearing my words. “Do you perhaps believe in love at first sight?”
I couldn’t help but smile. Something like love at first sight sounded more like a plot device out of a fairy tale.
Jayce smiled as well. “I don’t believe in it either, but the way my heart beats faster every time I see you is very real.”
His eyes were filled with affection, and I felt like I was drowning in his gentle gaze. My heart began to flutter like a butterfly’s
wings.
Jayce told me that he’d been waiting for me for more than ten years. When he first saw that I had a boyfriend, he’d considered backing off.
However, when he found out that Liam had a long–time crush he’d buried within his heart, he knew that Liam wouldn’t be able to give me the happiness I wanted. So, he decided to try and pursue my affections.
He took out a diamond ring and got down on one knee, holding the fitting ring to my fingertip. “I hope I can have a chance to love you openly. It’s alright if you don’t believe me now. We have long lives ahead of us, and I’ll prove myself through action.”
My parents also appeared out of nowhere, each holding a bouquet of roses.
“Say yes! Say yest” they chanted cheerfully.
I thought back to the scene I’d witnessed at the restaurant on my birthday. I’d now become the protagonist of such a scene, surrounded by flowers and cheers.

This time, I would also be wilful for once and go along with this spontaneous romance.
I put my finger through the ring. Jayce, with tears in his eyes, slowly slipped the ring onto my finger inch by inch until it fit
snugly.
Cecilia walked over and placed the pearl–and–diamond tiara on my head. Adam was in tears, but even as he wiped away his tears, he didn’t forget to take pictures and videos of the scene.
