Chapter 7 Confrontation
Chapter 7 Confrontation
Talia looked at me with pure disgust.
“Crazy.”
I snapped, eyes burning, and slapped her hard.
She froze, clutching her face. “Selly, have you lost it?”
I grabbed her hair and hit her again without a word.
Her face swelled up, panic flashing in her eyes.

She stumbled back, looking terrified. “What do you want? Selly, we’re in public!”
I kept moving, brushing my hair back.
She was scared? A little late for that.
Talia turned around and bumped into someone.
Her voice cracked the moment she saw him.
“Jericho…”
Her hero showed up.
I let out a mocking smile.
Jericho moved past her, his brow furrowed as he looked at me.
“Selly, what are you doing?”
Before I could speak, Talia shrieked like a victim.
“I just ran into her on my business trip and wanted to say hi, but she attacked me!
“Jericho, look at my face. It hurts.”
Jericho’s fingers brushed over her swollen cheek, his eyes full of concern.
That scene was like a punch to the
gut.
If you were already in love with someone else, why keep acting in front of me?
I had no fight left in me to argue with them.
Just saying one more word felt disgusting.
I started to walk away, but Jericho caught my wrist.

His tone was sharp. “Have you had enough? You’ve slapped her, you’ve yelled–what more do you want?! You weren’t like this before!”
The way he talked, it was like I was some hysterical lunatic.
But he was the one who broke me.
He tore me apart until I had nothing left.
Nothing.
Even this tiny shred of dignity I’m clinging to, he wanted to trample that too.
My heart clenched so hard it hurt.

I forced it down, biting my teeth just to get the words out. “Jericho, you disgust me. Don’t show up in front of me again.”
His expression darkened.
He trapped me against the wall, his voice low and harsh. “Say that one more time!”
My eyes were wet. I gritted my teeth. “Right now, just looking at you makes me sick. Can you just leave?!”
Jericho cursed, yelling. “What the hell did I even do wrong?! Is it such a crime that I tested you?!
“Fine, I admit it. You’ve suffered, but everything I have will be in the end!
“My entire fortune! Doesn’t that mean anything compared to those three years?!
“I told you I’d make it up to you, so why do you have to keep giving me that attitude?!”
When he saw my bloodshot eyes, his tone softened. “Can we stop this? I’ll give you anything you want.”
I stared at that arrogant, unconcerned face.
It took me a while, but I finally said, “Get lost.”
