“I really hope you find happiness, Nicholas,” I said with all my heart. But it seemed like Nicholas had completely lost it.
“I have the right to know the truth!”
He turned to Ariana. “If what we have is a mistake, we need to fix it now.”
I didn’t want him to find out the truth and tried to keep lying, but suddenly blood burst from my mouth.
In an instant, I heard Nicholas scream my name in panic.
I fought to stay awake, but my eyelids felt so heavy that I could barely keep them open.
When I finally opened my eyes again, still half–asleep, only Ariana’s voice reached me.
“Caroline! You really deserve to die! Just die already!”
Ariana, totally losing her mind, stabbed a knife into my chest. I felt the sharp pain as she pierced through my organs, but I couldn’t make a sound at all.
“Carol!”
Nicholas burst in, kicked Ariana away, scooped me up in his arms, and yelled desperately, “Doctor! Doctor! Please hurry! Save her! Save her!”
I was rushed into the emergency room.
Once Nicholas was kept outside the door, Ariana clung to him from behind.
“Nic! Don’t leave me! Please don’t go!”
But Nicholas grabbed her arm, shoved her down to the ground, snatched the knife from her hand, and pressed it against her throat. “What did you do this?”
Ariana looked a bit out of control. “Nic, you’re mine. You’re mine! I met you before she did. You were supposed to be with me and only me!”
Nicholas gritted his teeth and shouted, “You’re unbelievable! If it weren’t for you, Caroline and I wouldn’t be stuck in this mess right now!”

He had uncovered everything–what Ariana had done before, but also all the schemes she had been up to since we got back together.

Sure enough, Nicholas froze with the knife in his hand.

Nicholas stared in shock at the emergency room and then immediately let go

Nicholas ordered his guys to hand her over to the police.
