Shelby’s eyes darted around as she noticed the crowd of onlookers.
She scooped up Lola, who was eager to get out of the car and find her father, and placed her on her lap.
She coaxed, “I know that Matilda hurt your daddy, so you feel bad and are angry, right?”
Lola nodded emphatically.
The thought of her dear daddy being hurt brought tears to her eyes.
Shelby coaxed, “Lola, sweetheart, if you do as I say, you can personally avenge your daddy.”
When the black BMW stopped, the onlookers outside smelled gossip.
They turned their cameras one after another, afraid of missing a bit of the show.
As soon as the driver parked the car, the back door opened.
A little girl in a blue princess dress ran out.
Her bright eyes were tearful, like a lost fawn looking around.
“Daddy, daddy, where are you?”
Not seeing her father, Lola’s eyes were full of endless fear, just like leaves shivering in a storm.
She ran towards the police station, tripped, and fell because she was running too fast.

“My daddy went out to find my mommy. Mommy was taken away by a man, and they stayed at a hotel.”

Kathy and Shelby came over, running.
Shelby picked up Lola and comforted her, “Don’t be afraid, Lola. Be good. Your daddy will be okay.”

Lola rushed into Brandon’s arms and cried her heart out.
“Daddy, how did you get so hurt? Did Mommy hit you?”
Brandon held Lola, his throat choked, unable to speak.
No one had ever dared to hit him and beat him into such a mess.
He cursed inwardly, ‘Matilda, Allen! You’ll be sorry for this!”
Shelby walked up to Brandon and slowly squatted down.
Touching Brandon’s swollen and bruised face, tears of heartache fell like beads.
She asked softly, “Brandon, does it hurt?”
Brandon’s eyes twitched slightly.
He looked at Shelby, who was in tears, and then at Matilda, who was still trying to excuse Allen.
He thought, ‘Isn’t it obvious who is more worthy of my love?’
Kathy went straight to Matilda after entering the door.
She looked like she wanted to skin Matilda alive.
Matilda was still telling the police that Allen acted in self-defense.
She didn’t notice Kathy coming.
She saw a look of astonishment on the police officer’s face.
In an instant, she realized that something was happening behind her.
Kathy’s shadow on the table looked like a monster eating people, stretching out sharp claws towards Matilda.
Matilda’s face was cold.
She reached out and grabbed Kathy’s wrist accurately.
She turned her head and stood up imposingly.
Then, she forcefully twisted Kathy’s wrist outwards.
Pain gradually appeared on Kathy’s face.
She murmured, “It hurts. It hurts…”
The police officer picked up a baton. “Let go quickly. You dare to hurt someone in the police station?”

Matilda had been patiently explaining to the police that Brandon had acted despicably first, that Brandon had made the first move, and that Brandon was going too far.

Matilda saw Shelby supporting Brandon over.
She forcefully threw Kathy onto Brandon.
Brandon felt pain all over his body, and Kathy’s bump made things even worse.
The gauze on his forehead and head was soaked with blood from holding back the pain, and he was drenched in cold sweat.
Kathy cared about her son first, and then, she didn’t dare to step forward. She pointed at Matilda.
She started cursing, “My son is an outstanding man, and he was so infatuated that he married you, a bitch. You cheated on him and colluded with your lover to plot a murder.
“A bitch like you deserves to be barren. Your mother gave birth to a troublemaker like you. She deserves to die young…”
Matilda was already on the verge of losing control.
Kathy successfully trampled on her last trace of sanity.
She suddenly moved forward and knocked Kathy down with her body.
She straddled Kathy and strangled her neck tightly.
There were scolding voices all around.
“Let go. Did you hear me? Let go!”
“Matilda, let go of my mother.”
“She’s going to kill her.”
“Let go of my grandma. Don’t the police have guns? Shoot her.”
Matilda’s eyes were bloodshot.
Hearing Lola’s words, she chuckled.
She realized for the first time that her laughter sounded so awful.
Kathy struggled on the ground, her shoes flying off, and her eyes quickly rolled back.
The police pulled Matilda away, handcuffed her, and held her like a prisoner.

Seeing that Matilda couldn’t move, Zack smiled vilely.
“I told you so. I warned you not to get Dr. Saunders into trouble, but you wouldn’t listen.
“He can’t get away with this. He will be disgraced, just like you.”
The police locked Matilda and Allen in the interrogation room.
Allen was shocked when he saw Matilda in handcuffs.
He asked with worry all over his face. “What happened? How dare they?”
Matilda looked up when she heard Allen’s voice.
She looked at him with anger and guilt.

She thought, ‘Once he is charged with a criminal case, he will be expelled from the school and fired from the hospital.
All his academic achievements will be ruined.
