Chapter 23

Her eyes were exceptionally cold. “I’m taking Kingsley Corp.,” she said heartlessly, “and you’re getting out. You are in no position to negotiate with me.”

Just as she had been in no position to negotiate with him for the past three years.

Before long, Spencer’s personal lawyer entered.

He produced the agreement that Seraphina and Spencer had already prepared and stamped it with the official seal.

Once stamped, the agreement was effective immediately. He announced to the room, “From this moment on, Ms. Seraphina Beaumont is the largest shareholder

of Kingsley Corp.”

Though Caspian was in a daze, he didn’t try to stop it.

If this would appease Seraphina, then he would let her have it.

“Seraphina, you are now the largest shareholder. If this makes you feel better, I won’t try to get the shares back.”

Suddenly, Seraphina felt she must have been blind before.

How on earth had she fallen for such an arrogant, conceited man?

Her fingertips tapped on the table. She raised an eyebrow. “Now, as the largest shareholder of Kingsley Corp., I hereby declare the removal of Caspian Kingsley from the position of CEO.”

The color drained from Caspian’s face.

He could give her the shares, but he couldn’t give up the CEO position.

This was his family’s legacy.

He suppressed his emotions. “Seraphina, don’t mess around.”

‘Besides, you can’t just fire the CEO on a whim. It requires a vote from the board of directors. You need a fifty-percent majority.”

Instantly, Seraphina’s face darkened. “Who said I was messing around?” She said menacingly. “You are getting out of Kingsley Corp. today.”

Every time Caspian had hurt her, she had promised herself that one day, she would make him pay.

The next second, Seraphina’s bodyguards dragged a lurking Thalia, who had been eavesdropping at the door, into the room.

Miss, this person was eavesdropping outside.”

Thalia had heard that two important people had arrived, so she’d come to see who it was. She never expected it to be Seraphina.

The adopted sister she had always looked down on was actually the heiress of the powerful Beaumont family in New York.

eeing that it was Thalia, Seraphina waved her hand, and the bodyguards released her.

Once freed, Thalia shrieked, “Good, you know what’s good for you! I’m pregnant! If anything happens to me, none of you will get away with it!”

learing the news of Thalia’s pregnancy didn’t surprise or sadden Seraphina. She simply smiled.

Congratulations, Mr. Kingsley. On the new baby.”

Caspian was at a loss for words, offering only a pale explanation. “Seraphina, I never wanted to have a child with her.”

‘I tried to make her get an abortion, but she said if she did, she’d never be able to get pregnant again. She injured her uterus when she saved me from drowning back then. A man has to have a conscience. I couldn’t do that to her.”

Suddenly, Seraphina’s eyes narrowed.

Thalia, however, kept her head down, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Seraphina’s icy voice cut through the air. “You said the person who saved you all those years ago was Thalia. Is that what she told you?”

Caspian didn’t speak, but his bewildered expression was all the confirmation she needed.

“Hah. Caspian, you really are a fool. To mistake your own savior all these years.”

“Thalia has been selfish since she was a child. Do you really think a coward like her would risk her own life to save you?”

“Idiot.”

“The person who saved you that day was me. I spent a month in the hospital because of it. The doctor said I almost died.”

In an instant, it felt as if Caspian’s soul had been ripped from his body. His nails dug into his palms, but he seemed to feel no pain.

The person who saved me was you?”

If it was you, why didn’t you tell me? Why…”

Seraphina cut him off.

Caspian, not every good deed needs to be announced to the world.”

You were just too stupid to see the truth.”

At the time, Seraphina had wondered why, after she had saved him, he treated Thalia with such devotion.

he had thought it was simply the depth of his love for Thalia. Now she knew he had just been loving the wrong person.

but none of that mattered anymore.

With all the shareholders present, Seraphina moved to remove Caspian from his position and called for a vote.

While none of them wanted to cross Caspian, they were even more terrified of offending the Hayes and Beaumont families.

hey exchanged nervous glances and cast their votes.

n the end, the motion to remove Caspian as CEO passed with a majority of over fifty percent.

Caspian stood there through it all, but no one spared a thought for his feelings.

n this moment, all the pain Seraphina had endured for years was finally released.

ler goal was achieved. She stood up and shot a final, cold glance at Caspian.

Caspian, your debt to me is paid. From this day forward, we owe each other nothing. Let’s never see each other again.”

rom this moment on, she would break from the past completely and start a new life with Spencer.
