Chapter 1059
Sierra looked at Zada. Even though she had tried to drive a wedge between Zada and Halsey, she knew that Zada still genuinely cared about Halsey.
Seeing Halsey, pregnant and betrayed by Shaun, clearly made Zada anxious.
Sierra smirked to herself. She really couldn’t understand what made Halsey so special that her fiancé and friends all treated her with such genuine care.
Sierra grabbed Zada’s arm. “I was really scared back then, but I told him no.”
Zada patted her on the back reassuringly. “You did the right thing. Mr. Lane and Halsey are getting married. We can’t cross lines like that. Some moral boundaries just shouldn’t be broken.”
Sierra nodded obediently, playing the part of the good girl. “I know.”
Zada glanced toward the schoolyard. “Right now, the media is going crazy over what happened between you and Mr. Lane. I have a feeling this is only gonna get bigger. Maybe it’s better if you and Halsey meet up and talk it out calmly.”
Sierra frowned. “Talk it out? How?”
Zada shrugged. “You haven’t actually done anything with Mr. Lane, right? So why not clear the air for him in front of the reporters? Then let Halsey and Mr. Lane handle their own problems.”
Sierra’s eyes narrowed. She thought Zada was way too biased–she had never helped her like this
before.
She opened her mouth to say something, but at that moment, a familiar figure appeared. It was
Halsey.
Halsey had come to campus.
Sierra’s eyes lit up. “Look, Halsey’s here!”
Zada turned and saw Halsey as well. “Let’s go meet her.”
She led Sierra over to Halsey. “Hey, Halsey!”
Halsey stopped and looked at them. “What’s up?”
Zada didn’t waste time. “I heard about what happened between Mr. Lane and Sierra.”
Sierra stepped forward, putting on her best innocent smile. “I hope you’re not angry at me. Last night, Mr. Lane was drunk, and that’s why he acted the way he did.”
She shot Halsey a mischievous, almost taunting grin.

Zada turned to Halsey again. “So… How are things between you and Mr. Lane right now?”
Halsey’s face was unreadable. “Nothing’s going on.”
Zada nodded. “We’re trying to help you. I already told Sierra to step up and explain things to the reporters and clear Mr. Lane’s name.”
Halsey looked genuinely surprised. She hadn’t expected Zada to be on her side.
Zada had been Halsey’s first real friend at Anteoch University. Still, she was too naive, and Sierra had tricked her.
Sierra grabbed Halsey’s hand. “We’re good friends. I’m happy to do this for you.
She squeezed Halsey’s hand tightly.
Halsey’s brows furrowed. She shoved Sierra away forcefully. “Let go of me!”
Sierra stumbled, letting out a sharp yelp as she fell backward.
“Sierra!” Zada caught her immediately. “Are you okay?”
Sierra looked up at Zada, eyes wide and innocent. “I just wanted to help Halsey! I didn’t expect her to be so hostile toward me.”
Zada’s fists clenched as she turned to Halsey. “Why did you do that? Sierra and I were trying to help you!”
Halsey crossed her arms. “Well, thanks, I guess.”
Zada gaped. “What…”
At that moment, a sweet ringtone rang. Halsey’s phone was buzzing.
Sierra’s sharp eyes immediately caught the caller ID–Mr. Lane.
