Seeing Nathan approach, I quickly tucked away my resignation letter. “Something you need, Mr. Pierce?”
Nathan’s tone was unusually soft. “About earlier… don’t blame Isabella. She’s pregnant-her moods are all over the place. Try to understand. Does your face still hurt?”

That radiant smile used to be for me. I remembered Nathan once saying:
