First thing the next morning, I arrived at the office to begin my work handover.
Isabella’s call came immediately: “Nathan and I are having our wedding soon. Come with me to try on wedding dresses.”
I quickly finished briefing the new secretary and rushed to the bridal salon.

She curled up in agony at the bottom of the stairs, her white dress stained with a spreading patch of red.
“Oh my God, Isabella, are you okay?”
