“I’ll have someone handle the withdrawal and deliver it to wherever the kidnappers want. I’m coming with you.”
Marcus grabbed his car keys. Watching his retreating figure, I stumbled after him.
After a few steps, something occurred to me.
“Wait. I think I know who kidnapped Nathan.”
Marcus stopped and looked back at me. “Who?”
If I’m not mistaken, it’s Isabella.”
Isabella? Isn’t that Nathan’s wife? They just got married.”

Marcus nodded. “If it’s her, this should be manageable. Let’s go save him first-I’ll call the police immediately.”
The abandoned factory reeked of gasoline, making it almost impossible to breathe.
When we entered, we couldn’t see the kidnappers anywhere-just Nathan tied to a chair, blindfolded.
His head lolled to one side, completely unresponsive.
His right hand was bandaged, white gauze already soaked through with blood.
“Where are you? We brought the money-let him go!”
Marcus threw the money case on the ground. “Fifty million, not a penny short!”
“Well, well. Mr. Stone came too.”
A woman’s voice echoed through the empty factory. I’d guessed right-it really was Isabella.
But I couldn’t understand why she was doing this.
Marcus said grimly: “Release him. The money’s here.”
“Release him?”
The woman suddenly burst into maniacal laughter. “Sure thing, Marcus. Take that money case outside and put it in the van by the entrance. Someone will collect it.”
Isabella still wouldn’t show herself. Marcus didn’t want to leave me alone here.
Jade…”
“I’m fine. Go ahead.”
I told Marcus to deliver the money. The moment he left, Isabella emerged from behind a pillar.
Though she wore a mask and hat, covering herself completely, I recognized her instantly. It was definitely Isabella.
