Chapter 125 /126/127
Madison
Alexander’s hand lazily stroked my back, tracing patterns on my sweaty skin.
“Not bad for punishment,” I murmured against his chest, a small smile on my lips.
“Who said the punishment is over?”
I lifted my head to look at him, raising an eyebrow. “You mean there’s more?”
“There’s always more, Ms. Harper.” His hand came down on my ass with a light smack that made me jump. “That was just the warm–up. Something about you makes me want to f**k you until neither of us can walk straight.”
I laughed, sitting up on his chest. My hair was a mess, falling around my face in tangled waves. “Is that a challenge or a promise?”
Alexander’s eyes darkened as they roamed over my body. “Both.”
He sat up suddenly, keeping me in his lap as he kissed me hard. His tongue invaded my mouth, claiming me all over again. When he pulled back, we were both breathless.
“I need to get rid of this,” he said, gesturing to the condom.
I climbed off him, wincing slightly at the soreness between my legs. Alexander disappeared into the bathroom, returning moments later completely naked.
His body was a work of art with broad shoulders, defined abs, and muscular thighs that made my mouth water despite what we’d just done.
“Enjoying the view?” he asked, catching me staring.
I didn’t bother denying it. “Very much, Mr. Knight.”
He smirked, walking toward me with the confidence of a man who knew exactly how good he looked. “I just realized I haven’t shown you around outside yet.”
“Outside?” I raised an eyebrow. “You mean… now?”
“Why not?” He shrugged, his eyes glinting with mischief.
“We’re naked, Mr. Knight,” I pointed out, gesturing at our distinct lack of clothing.
He laughed as he walked to a closet, pulling out two plush robes. “Problem solved.” He tossed one to me, white, soft, and clearly expensive, before slipping into his own navy one.

I wrapped the robe around myself and tied it securely. It smelled like him, an expensive cologne with hints of sandalwood.
“Come on,” he said, extending his hand to me. “Let me show you my kingdom.”
I took his hand, and he led me through the house to a set of French doors that opened onto a sprawling patio. The night air was cool against my face, carrying the scent of pine and water. The moon hung full and bright in the sky, casting everything in a silvery glow.
“Holy shit,” I breathed, taking in the view. The mansion was surrounded by tall trees that created a natural privacy fence. Beyond the immediate grounds, I could see the glimmer of water, the private lake I’d glimpsed from inside.
“Impressed?” Alexander asked, his hand resting on the small of my back.
“It’s beautiful,” I admitted. “How much land do
you
own?”
“About fifty acres,” he said casually as if that was a normal amount of property for one person. “The lake is entirely on my property. No neighbors to worry about.”
He guided me down stone steps to a path that wound through immaculately landscaped gardens. Solar–powered lights illuminated our way, creating pools of soft light among the shadows.
“These gardens must take an army to maintain,” I said, trailing my fingers over a flowering bush I couldn’t identify in the darkness.
“I have a team that comes twice a week,” he replied. “I like things perfect.”
“I’ve noticed,” I murmured, thinking about his meticulous attention to detail in everything from his clothes to his office to the way he’d methodically taken me apart in bed.
We continued walking until we reached the edge of the lake. The water was dark and still, reflecting the moon and stars like a perfect mirror.
“I swim here in the summer,” Alexander said, his voice softer than usual. “It’s peaceful.”
“I bet,” I agreed, trying to imagine him cutting through the water with powerful strokes and glistening skin.
He tugged my hand, leading me along the shoreline. “There’s more.”
Around a bend in the path, we came upon an infinity pool that seemed to spill directly into the lake below. Next to it was a hot tub large enough for at least eight people.
“Because one body of water wasn’t enough?” I teased.
Alexander chuckled. “The lake gets cold. And sometimes I want to soak without fish nibbling at my

balls.”
I laughed, the sound echoing in the quiet night. “Fair point.”
“Want to try it?” he asked, nodding toward the hot tub.
“We didn’t bring swimsuits,” I pointed out.
His grin was pure wickedness. “We didn’t need them upstairs either.”
Before I could respond, he untied his robe and let it fall to the ground, standing gloriously naked before me. The moonlight accentuated every muscle, every plane of his body. His cock, already half- hard again, made my mouth go dry.
“Your turn,” he said, his eyes challenging me.
I hesitated only briefly before untying my robe. The cool air pebbled my nipples instantly, and I fought the urge to cover myself.
“F**king beautiful,” Alexander murmured, his eyes roaming over my body with undisguised hunger. “Get in.”
He pressed a button on a nearby panel, and the hot tub lights illuminated the bubbling water. He stepped in first, holding his hand to help me navigate the steps.
The water was deliciously hot, enveloping my body in silky warmth. I sank down to my shoulders, sighing with pleasure as the jets massaged my sore muscles.
“Better than a five–star spa,” I said, closing my eyes briefly.
“I aim to please,” Alexander replied, settling beside me. His arm draped around my shoulders, pulling me against his side. “Especially when it comes to beautiful women in my hot tub.”
“Is this where you bring all your conquests?” I asked before I could stop myself.
Instead of being offended, he laughed. “You’re the first woman I’ve brought to this house in over two years.”
That surprised me. “Really? Why me?”
He was quiet for a moment, his fingers tracing patterns on my shoulder. “You intrigue me, Madison. You’re not what I expected.”
“Is that good or bad?”
“Definitely good.” His hand slid down to cup my breast underwater, his thumb brushing over my nipple. “Very, very good.”

I leaned into his touch, my body responding instantly despite our recent activities. “Mr. Knight,” I murmured, “are you trying to seduce me again?”
“Is it working?” His other hand found my thigh, sliding upward until his fingers brushed against my
pussy.
“Yes,” I admitted, parting my legs to give him better access.
He smiled against my neck, nipping lightly at the sensitive skin. “Good.”
We stayed in the hot tub for a while, his fingers lazily exploring my body as we talked about nothing important. It felt strangely intimate, more like actual lovers than our arrangement dictated.
Eventually, the chill in the air drove us back inside. Alexander wrapped me in my robe again, his hands lingering on my shoulders longer than necessary.
“Let me make you something warm to drink,” he said as we entered the kitchen, a chef’s dream of
stainless steel and marble.
I perched on a barstool, watching him move confidently around the space.
He started heating milk in a saucepan. He added chunks of what looked like expensive chocolate, stirring slowly.
He poured the hot chocolate into two mugs, adding a dollop of whipped cream to each. He handed one to me, our fingers brushing in the exchange.
“Thank you,” I said, taking a sip. The chocolate was rich and velvety, with hints of cinnamon and something else I couldn’t identify. “Oh my god, this is amazing.”
“Secret family recipe,” he said, standing behind me. His hands rested on my shoulders, thumbs kneading the tense muscles at the base of my neck. “My grandmother taught me.‘
I closed my eyes, enjoying the hot chocolate and his impromptu massage. “I never pictured you as someone with family recipes.”
“Did you think I was created in a lab?” he teased, his hands working magic on my tight muscles.
“Sometimes,” I admitted. “You seem too perfect to be real.”
His hands paused. “I’m far from perfect, Madison.”
Something in his tone made me turn to look at him. For a brief moment, I saw vulnerability in his eyes before his usual confidence returned.
“But I am f**king fantastic in bed,” he added with a wink, breaking the tension.

1 laughed, relaxing back against him. “No arguments there, Mr. Knight.”
He bent down, his lips finding the sensitive spot below my ear. “Finish your hot chocolate,” he murmured. “I’m not done with you yet.”
I took another sip, savoring both the rich flavor and the promise in his words.
For tonight, at least, I could pretend this was real, that we were just a man and woman enjoying each other’s company, with no contracts or arrangements between us.
Just for tonight.

Chapter 127
Madison
Jackson spotted us and smiled, that same crooked smile that used to appear when he’d finally solved a difficult math problem. He weaved between tables toward us.
“Madison! Hazel!” He spread his arms wide. “You both look amazing!”
Hazel, who had been ready to verbally destroy him moments ago, stood up and accepted his hug like they were long–lost relatives. “Jackson! What a surprise! We were just saying how it’s been forever!”
I caught her eye over his shoulder and mouthed, “Traitor.” She responded with a subtle shrug that clearly meant, “But he’s hot now.”
Jackson turned to hug me next, and I caught a whiff of expensive cologne. “Mads, so good to see you in person. Thanks for meeting me.”
“Sure thing,” I replied, patting his back awkwardly before pulling away. “It’s been a while.”
“Three years, two months, and approximately sixteen days,” Hazel said sweetly, then added, “Not that I was counting.” (1
We all sat down, and an uncomfortable silence fell over the table until Jackson cleared his throat.
“So, I owe you both an explanation and an apology.”
“You think?” Hazel raised an eyebrow, but her tone lacked the venom she’d promised earlier.
Jackson leaned forward, folding his hands on the table. “I know I disappeared without warning. It wasn’t cool.”
“Understatement of the century,” I muttered, sipping my water.
“The thing is,” Jackson continued, “after graduation, I got hit with all my student loans at once. The economy was tanking, entry–level jobs were paying peanuts, and I was drowning in debt.” He ran a hand through his hair. “When this opportunity came up in London, I jumped at it. The pay was decent, but the hours were brutal.”
“So you worked non–stop for three years?” Hazel asked, skepticism clear in her voice.
“Pretty much. I was juggling three part–time jobs on top of my main gig just to make the loan payments. Lived in this tiny apartment with four other guys.” He shrugged. “But I finally paid everything off last month. That’s why I’m back clean slate, fresh start.”
“That’s great and all,” Hazel said, stirring her water with her straw, “but it doesn’t explain why you couldn’t send a single text. ‘Hey guys, still alive, just working my ass off in London.‘ Would’ve taken

ten seconds.”
Jackson had the decency to look embarrassed. “I know it sounds stupid, but the longer I went without contacting anyone, the harder it got. I figured you’d all moved on with your lives, forgotten about me.
Hazel and I exchanged a glance and then simultaneously turned to Jackson with identical expressions of disbelief.
“Who are you?” we asked in unison.
Jackson blinked. “What?”
“No, seriously,” I said, leaning forward. “Who are you? Because the Jackson we knew wouldn’t have just assumed his friends had forgotten him.”
“Yeah,” Hazel chimed in. “The Jackson we knew would’ve known we’d be worried sick. The Jackson we knew would’ve at least sent a F******k message or something.”
“I guess I’m not that Jackson anymore,” he admitted quietly.
An awkward silence fell over our table, broken only when the server approached with her notepad.
“Ready to order?” she asked, pen poised.
“God, yes,” Hazel said with relief. “I’ll have a caramel macchiato with an extra shot and whipped cream. And chocolate drizzle,” she added, shooting me a pointed look.
“Just black coffee for me,” Jackson said.
“I’ll take a vanilla latte,” I said, handing back the menu.
When the server left, Jackson cleared his throat. “So, what have you two been up to for the past three years? Fill me in on everything I missed.”
I took a sip of water, buying myself time. What could I say? Oh, I’m sleeping with my billionaire boss as part of a contract to pay my mom’s medical bills? It was not exactly casual coffee chat material.
“Nothing exciting,” I said with a shrug. “I work as a PA at Knight Industries. You know, scheduling meetings, answering phones, the glamorous life. Nothing special.”
“Don’t let her fool you,” Hazel chimed in. “She just got promoted to project manager for some fancy new building development.”
I shot her a look that clearly said not helping.
“Wow, that’s impressive,” Jackson said, leaning forward with interest. “You always were the

smartest one in our study group.”
“What about you, Hazel?” I asked, desperate to change the subject. “Catch Jackson up on your life.”
Hazel flipped her hair dramatically. “Well, I’m in marketing. Actually, I just started at a new company last week. The creative director is a nightmare, but the pay is decent, and the snack room is fully stocked, so priorities, right?”
“Dating anyone?” Jackson asked her.
“Not currently. Dated two guys since college. The last one ended about a year ago. He thought commitment‘ was a disease you catch from toilet seats.” She shrugged. “His loss. I’m fabulous.” (1)
Jackson laughed, then turned to me. “What about you, Madison? Anyone special in your life?”
My stomach clenched. I could feel Hazel’s eyes boring into me, waiting for my answer. What was I supposed to say? Alexander wasn’t exactly my boyfriend, but we were… something. Something complicated and contractual and occasionally naked.
“Nope,” I said, popping the ‘p‘ sound. “Flying solo.”
“Really?” Jackson looked genuinely surprised. “I would’ve thought guys would be lining up around
the block.”
Hazel snorted into her water. “Madison scares them off with her work ethic. She’s practically married to her job.”
“I am not,” I protested, though it wasn’t entirely untrue. Even before Alexander’s arrangement, work had consumed most of my life.
“You are too,” Hazel countered. “She’s been all work and no play for months.”
Our server arrived with our drinks. I wrapped my hands around my latte, grateful for the
interruption.
“So,” Jackson said after taking a sip of his coffee, “no boyfriend, big promotion, working for a famous billionaire… sounds like you’re doing pretty well for yourself, Madison.”
“I guess so,” I said, sipping my latte. “What about you? Anyone special waiting for you back in London?”
“There was someone,” he admitted, running a finger around the rim of his mug. “Didn’t work out. Cultural differences, you know? She thought baseball was just cricket with better uniforms.”
I laughed despite myself. Jackson had always been able to make me laugh, even during finals week when I was surviving on caffeine and pure stress.

“Unforgivable,” I said. “How could you date someone with such blasphemous opinions?”
“I know, right?” He grinned.

“So you’re back in New York for good?” Hazel asked, her tone softening slightly. Maybe she was starting to forgive him after all.
“That’s the plan. Got a job at Mercer Financial downtown. Starting next week.
“Fancy,” Hazel said, looking impressed despite herself. “They only hire the best.”
Jackson shrugged modestly. “I got lucky. Right place, right time.”
“And the right qualifications,” I added. Jackson had always been brilliant with numbers, even in college.
