I took out my phone and called my assistant, putting it on speaker.
“Madam,” my assistant answered respectfully.
“Notify the legal and security departments,” I spoke, my voice cold. “First of all, take back all properties and vehicles under
Dennis’s name, as well as the black card ending in 8888. Freeze the card immediately and have the ownership transfer paperwork
ready first thing in the morning.
“Secondly, reclaim all shares granted to Dennis and remove him from every company project on behalf of the White Group board.
“Thirdly, let the manor’s security team know that Dennis is no longer the owner as of this moment. He has ten minutes to leave.
The only thing he’s allowed to take with him is the clothes on his back. Is that clear?”
“Yes, Madam. I’ll take care of it right away,” my assistant replied without hesitation.
I hung up and put my phone back in my bag, not bothering to look at Dennis again. He looked like all the strength had been
drained out of him. He slumped on the floor, dazed.
His so–called friends, who had been around him, were now looking at him with open contempt and aloofness, merely enjoying
the drama.
An illegitimate son who had been cast out was no longer someone worth acknowledging and becoming part of their brotherhood.
I turned around, ready to leave that disgusting place.
“Theresa!” Dennis suddenly scrambled up from the floor and rushed over, grabbing my arm. “I was wrong! Please, don’t kick me
out!”
He was crying now. All that arrogance and anger from earlier was completely gone, replaced by tears and snot. “I didn’t know… I
really didn’t know… Just forgive me this once, I promise I’ll never do it again! I’ll break up with Jessica! I’ll do it right now! You
want her in prison? She can rot there forever if that’s what you want! Please, just don’t kick me out…”
He cried and begged like a child, but as I looked at his face, all I felt was irony and disgust.
If I had not exposed the truth and taken everything away today, would he really be begging me like this?
Of course not. He would only hate me more, blaming me for ruining his love life and his pride. His so–called regret was not about what he had done to me or even realizing he was wrong.
He was just scared of losing everything he had.
I pulled my arm free, hard enough to send him stumbling to the ground. “Dennis, you didn’t let me down. The one you truly let down was that foolish Theresa from over a decade ago. That poor fool who knelt in the snow and begged to let you live. From now on, there’s nothing left between us. Take care.”

Chapter 7
With that, I walked out of the manor without looking back.
My bodyguard quietly closed the door behind me, sealing away Dennis’s desperate cries and pleas.
I got into the car, leaned back, and closed my eyes.
My body still ached, but the weight I had carried in my heart for more than a decade was finally gone.
Dawn was breaking soon.
