Chapter 8
Steven stated, “Principal Richardson, embezzling donations, falsifying accounts, bullying students, slandering parents. Is that enough to give you a peaceful retirement in prison?”
The principal collapsed to his knees with a thud, his obese body shaking violently as he crumpled to the ground. “Mr. Walsh! I was wrong! It was all Linda! It was her! She misled me! She said your daughter had a withdrawn personality and needed ‘special methods‘ of education! She incited me, saying your wife was just a single mother who was easy to bully and would never dare make a big fuss!”
“You’re lying!” Linda, who had been collapsed on the ground, suddenly jumped up, pointing at the principal with a twisted face. “You fat bastard Richardson! Who was it that told me that as long as we stepped on this child and made room in the Advanced Mathematics Competition for the new sponsor’s child, you’d promote me to head teacher?!”
“And you!” She turned to Director Anderson, who was already scared senseless. “Didn’t you also say that her mother drives a bear
car, obviously poor, and if we offended her, so what? Could she really turn the tables?!”
Director Anderson completely lost control, screaming as she lunged forward to claw at Linda’s face. “You’re making false accusations! I never said that! It was clearly you who took black money from the sponsor, wanting to sell the spot! Mr. Walsh, you have to believe me! I can testify! I can tell you everything!”
A disgusting display of mutual accusations played out before millions of viewers, utterly revolting.
I watched all of this coldly, feeling only desolation in my heart.
This was their so–called “rules.”
Steven didn’t even bother to look at them again.

He walked to his phone, facing the camera and those three pathetic figures, and announced the final verdict, “Linda, as a teacher, you abused, bullied, and insulted a minor. I have submitted all evidence to the police and am personally filing a lawsuit demanding maximum criminal prosecution. You’ll never work in education again! Director Anderson, as an accomplice who threatened and intimidated, you can expect both court summons and termination notices from the
school.”
“As for you, Principal.” Steven’s gaze fell on the man collapsed on the ground. “Internal Affairs Department officers are already downstairs. Think carefully about how you’ll explain to your

accomplices how you dragged them all down with you.”
With that, he ended the live stream directly.
In the office, only the desperate wails of three villains remained.
Steven wrapped Lily tightly in his suit jacket.
He walked to me, gazing into my eyes, all his sharp edges softened, leaving only overwhelming
tenderness.
He reached out, his fingertips brushing away my tears. “Susan, I’m sorry. I came too late.”
Steven’s car didn’t stop at any hotel.
The black luxury sedan left the downtown area and finally stopped in front of an imposing
traditional estate.
The vermillion gates opened. I gripped Lily’s hand tightly, my palms slick with cold sweat.
Seeing those gates, my heart lurched as memories of being thrown out six years ago flooded back.
My body froze. I grabbed her hand and instinctively reached for the car door, wanting to escape.
“Susan.” Steven turned off the engine and looked back at me, his voice deep and powerful. “Don’t be afraid. Six years ago I failed to protect you, but today, I won’t let you suffer even the slightest
grievance.”
He paused, speaking each word deliberately, “What I need to resolve was never just those pieces of trash at the school. It’s ensuring that you and I never have to worry about anything again.“.
He led us out of the car and through the courtyard.
In a high–back armchair sat a silver–haired woman in an expensive silk dress–Steven’s mother.
Her gaze swept over me with undisguised disgust before landing on my daughter.
“You dare come back?” Her voice carried not a trace of emotion. “And you brought this… bastard of unknown origins?”
