Chapter 6: Yes, I’ve Been to Prison
Chapter 6: Yes, I’ve Been to Prison
“Yes, I’ve been to prison.” Lily’s gaze swept over the crowd, finally resting on Eliza’s face.
Eliza tried to grab Lily’s hand. “Lily, stop talking nonsense. I’ve already said, it was just a slip of the tongue. I didn’t mean it.”
Lily pulled her hand away violently, not wanting Eliza to touch her.
In her sudden movement, Eliza somehow stepped on her dress and fell to the ground.
The fall was not light, and she landed amidst the broken glass from the wine glass that had fallen earlier.
Mateo immediately rushed over, cutting through the crowd, and grabbed Eliza, lifting her up.
Eliza’s palm was a mess of blood and flesh, with several shards stuck in her skin.
Mateo’s eyes flashed with anger as he glared at Lily, his eyes bloodshot, “Lily, you still haven’t learned! I warned you…”
Lily’s heart trembled. Despite knowing Mateo didn’t care about her, seeing him protect another woman still made her feel cold.
“What did I do? I just pulled my hand back. She’s the one who fell,” Lily said, staring at their interlocked hands with bitter sarcasm.
She lowered her eyes and gently touched a spot on her chest.
There was a jade pendant hidden there, a gift from someone from the past.
In prison, during the countless times she had nearly broken down, it was that jade pendant that helped her get through.
When she looked up again, her gaze became cold.
She forced a smile and continued, “Yes, I’ve been to prison, but I was framed.”
Wren’s face turned pale when she heard Lily publicly admit to being in such a place.
When Eliza first brought up Lily’s imprisonment, she suspected it was intentional
But seeing Eliza apologize in front of everyone and trying to cover the matter up, Wren thought it was just a mistake.
She had watched Eliza grow up. How could she have such bad intentions?
Wren didn’t want things to escalate and tried to minimize the situation. “Lily, you must have drunk too much. Let me have someone help you upstairs to sober up.”
Lily acted as though she didn’t hear her, continuing,
“Three years ago, if I had really kidnapped her, I would have had a thousand ways to make Eliza disappear. Why would I leave clues for you to find her?”
“Slap!”
A heavy slap landed on Lily’s face. Derek appeared from the study, his face cold. “Lily, what nonsense are you talking about? Shut up!”
Her cheek burned, but Lily didn’t care.
“Back then, Eliza only had minor injuries. If those people really wanted to assault her, they could have done so when they were putting her in the car. Why go through the trouble of taking her to an abandoned factory? Isn’t that overkill?”

Chapter 6: Yes, I’ve Been to Prison
The onlookers were shocked, their eyes widening in disbelief.
Eliza almost got raped by thugs?
The gazes around the room shifted to Eliza, and she bit her lip, her face pale.
Derek was furious. This was a taboo in the Foster family, something no one had dared to mention in the past three years. Yet, Lily not only brought it
up but did so in front of so many people.
It was a joke!
One daughter went to prison, and the other nearly got assaulted, all because the sisters were fighting!
They had embarrassed themselves in front of everyone!
Eliza, on the other hand, was already in tears, her head lowered, her shoulders trembling, with tears falling in large drops.
Lily sneered. Was this all it took for her to break down?
Compared to her own experiences, what was this?
Wren glared at Lily, signaling for her to stop. This matter had already been settled three years ago. She and Derek had agreed to send Lily to prison to be “reformed” because she had refused to admit her mistakes. They had thought she was hopeless.
She had even wondered if they had been too harsh on her. After all, Lily was still a daughter of the Foster family.
But Eliza said it was precisely because Lily was a member of the Foster family that those in prison didn’t dare to do anything to her. They thought that by sending her to prison, she would learn to behave and avoid going down a wrong path.
Wren thought that made sense. After all, Lily had grown up around Jessica.
And who was Jessica?
She raised a gambling son who did nothing all day. Lily had grown up in such an environment, and it was clear that her character needed some
refining.
“Lily, why bring this up?” Wren asked angrily, her face showing clear displeasure. “Can’t you see your sister is crying?”
Lily’s cold face held a hint of sarcasm. “Yeah, I just did three years in prison for her, but sure, she’s the one crying.”
