Chapter 1
When my husband Easton Carver got back from his trip, I was staring out the window.
Didn’t even turn around. “You really into her that much?”
He ignored me.
After a beat of silence, I said, “There was a car accident downstairs just now.”
He froze. Thought it was the girl who’d gotten out of the car with him.
Then two seconds later? Bolted out the door like a maniac.
I looked down at my phone.
Texted his business rival:
[The bet? You win. He did cheated.]
When Easton came back, he whipped his tie across the room.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!”
I knew why’s he pissed.
The accident downstairs? Just a delivery guy who dropped a package.
He’d taken one look, made sure it wasn’t the girl who’d gotten out of the car with him, then rushed back up.
Dead sure I was losing it.
I lit a cigarette. Still couldn’t calm down.
So I looked up at him. “Easton. Let’s get divorced.”
He went still.
Then touched my forehead, all gentle–like.
“No fever. Why’re you talking crazy?”
I stubbed out the cigarette.
Looked him dead in the eye.
“If we don’t get divorced, I’m gonna cheat.”
He was already turning away, taking off his jacket. Barely paying attention.
“Fine, just find someone clean. Don’t bring any nasty shit back home.”
I went quiet for a second.
“Okay.”

Chapter 1
Easton’s hands stopped moving.
His eyes locked on my face.
“Ha. Whatever.”
As a business partner, this wasn’t the first time I’d gotten a message from him.
Marcus Finley didn’t give a damn about project updates.
Instead? He kept sending me photos of Easton with some other woman.
[Ms. Reed, your man’s cheating on you.]
We were in the middle of a meeting, and Marcus was sitting right across from me, watching with this amused look on his face.
I went pale in front of everyone.
Walked out of the conference room, and he grabbed my arm.
“Laney, you freaking out?”
What do you think?!
Whose husband cheats and they don’t freak out?
In the hallway, Marcus leaned in close.
“What if I told you they’ve been together for three years? Still freaking out?”
My ears started ringing.
Brain went fuzzy.
First thought? I don’t believe it.
These past three years, Easton had been right there with me.
Flowers and surprises, every single day.
How could he…
But Marcus read my mind. Let go of my arm.
“Don’t believe me? Wanna make a bet?”
How can you bet on two people’s relationship?
So I turned Marcus down.
When I got home, there was another gift from Easton waiting.
A Bulgari rose gold bracelet.
I was already wearing the exact same one on my wrist–he’d given it to me last time.
Easton was thoughtful like that.
In our five years together, he’d never given me the same gift twice.

Chapter 1
My heart sank.
He came up behind me, wrapped his arms around me.
“Babe, you like it? Haven’t seen you in a week, missed you so much…”
His eyes landed on the box, and his voice trailed off.
“What the… did they give me the wrong one?”
I watched his face carefully.
Easton was frowning.
No guilt. Just annoyed that there might’ve been a mistake,
“Oh babe, they must’ve mixed up the boxes. That’s annoying–I’ll swing by tomorrow arid swap it out.”
I smiled, keeping my voice soft. “It’s really okay. I mean, you got this for me, right? That’s what matters.”
His expression froze for a second.
Then kisses rained down.
Over and over, saying sorry, he’d be more careful next time.
Perfect act.
If I didn’t know better, I’d probably believe him too.
