Chapter 259
Brad’s POV
The werewolf guards threw Skylar onto the carpet like a discarded piece of trash. She hit the floor hard, her designer dress wrinkled and her perfect makeup
smeared from crying. I didn’t even look up from my whiskey glass.
I’d been told exactly what had happed.
Alex stood silently by the wall, his human composure intact despite the oppressive Alpha energy filling the room. Smart man. He knew better than to speak
when I was this close to losing control.
I gestured for everyone except Skylar to leave.
Skylar finally looked up at me, her face pale with terror.
“You enjoyed the wine selection downstairs? My voice was deceptively calm, but the Alpha pressure radiating from me made her flinch.
“No, no it wasn’t like that! Alpha, I didn’t know she was your… your mate!” Skylar’s words tumbled out in a panicked rush.
I stood slowly, letting my full height and presence dominate the space. “At the very beginning, I warned you. You could do whatever you want by my side. Every single thing. But you were never, ever to touch one hair on Elle’s head.”
“Brad… I was wrong! I was so wrong! I really didn’t know she was your fated mate…”
My amber eyes fixed on her with deadly intensity.
I reached for one of the bottles on the side table–a custom–blended wine worth a hundred thousand dollars, made specifically for Alpha werewolves. The
cork popped with a satisfying sound.
I tilted the bottle over Skylar’s head. “It’s priceless, really. Hard to find.”
The deep red liquid poured over her platinum blonde hair, soaking through her expensive performance outfit. The sweet, cloying scent filled the air as she
trembled beneath the cascade.
I emptied the entire bottle, then hurled it against the wall. It exploded in a shower of glass and wine that made Skylar cry out in terror.
“That was just the appetizer,” I said, reaching for another bottle. “Let’s try something really special.”
This one was worth nearly a million. I didn’t hesitate to dump every drop on her shaking form.
“How’s that taste?” I asked, throwing this bottle against the wall as well. “That’s what real power tastes like. Remember it.”
Skylar sat frozen in shock, wine dripping from her hair and clothes, too terrified to even wipe her face.
“Take her outside,” I commanded as Alex returned. She kneels at the front entrance until I’m satisfied. Don’t let her clean up, don’t let her change clothes. I want everyone who passes to see.”
“And if Skylar thinks about getting up before I say so,” I added coldly, “remind her that defying an Alpha’s direct order is grounds for exile from werewolf society entirely.”

Chapter 259
Once the wine–soaked mess was dragged away, I moved to the inner office. Alex followed, keeping his expression carefully neutral as werewolf servants hurried to replace the wine–stained carpet and furniture.
A
‘What’s the situation with the stock market?‘ I asked without preamble.
Alex immediately shifted into business mode. “Everything is proceeding exactly as you predicted, sir. After the Blair family entered bankruptcy liquidation,
their debts reached several billion. Elle has decided to sell her Rayne Group shares to save the Blair family.”
She was sacrificing her own security for those people who’d never done anything but cause her pain.
“The moment Elle’s shares hit the market, someone moved fast with over ten billion in cash, ready to snap them up, Alex continued.
“And?”
As you suspected, the money comes from Lucas. He liquidated his assets and the advertising company stock, but the real mastermind behind the operation
is Mira Collins. She’s using Lucas’s funds to try to completely absorb Elle’s shares.”
“There are two other entities showing interest in Elle’s shares,” Alex added. “But they seem to be protecting her position rather than acquiring it. They’re artificially inflating the price to help her. We’ve also detected an anonymous ten billion dollar transfer into Elle’s account.”
A smile tugged at my lips. “Ten billion? Seems Elle has more guardians than I thought.”
“No one touches Elle’s shares,” I declared.
My eyes went cold as Arctic ice. “Since Lucas is so eager to destroy himself, how can his loving brother not help him achieve his goal? Release another batch of Rayne Group shares onto the market. I want to see if he can resist taking the bait.”
I leaned back in my chair, a predatory smile spreading across my face. “I want to see how much money Lucas has left after Mira bleeds him dry.
“Yes, sir, Alex replied immediately.
“And transfer all the profits from this operation to Elle’s account. I acquired the Blair family properties, and she’s angry about that. Consider this
compensation for the Blair family.”
‘Yes, sir.’
Elle’s POV
I was enjoying a surprisingly comfortable conversation with Roy when my phone buzzed with a notification. Glancing at the screen, I nearly dropped my
glass of milk.
Ten billion dollars had just appeared in my account.
My mind raced. I’d only just started the process of selling my Rayne Group shares. How could money already be coming in?
Before I could process this fully, another message arrived from Peter Hamilton: ‘Sorry, I only have ten billion available right now. I’ll send you another fifty billion once my other investments clear.”
I stared at the message in complete shock. Another one followed immediately: “I told you before–whether you’re Elle West or Dakota Blair, I’ll always

protect you.
My heart clenched as I remembered Dakota’s voice in my dream: “Elle, please take care of Peter for me…”
I typed back: “Thank you, but you don’t need to do this. I can handle the stock sale myself.”
His response was immediate: ‘Don’t sell your shares. They’re your lifeline. Let me handle this.”
Roy noticed my distracted state and chuckled. “Important messages?”
I shook my head, slipping my phone away.
“Nothing serious,” I deflected. “You were saying about Yara? I’m surprised she didn’t come with you. Didn’t you two just complete your mate bonding?”
Roy’s smile turned rueful. “You want to know why Yara and I bonded?”
I nodded, curious about werewolf relationships.
“Because I had no choice,” he said simply. “Yara’s pregnant. With my child.”
“That’s wonderful!” I exclaimed. “Congratulations!”
Roy set down his glass, his expression complicated. “Wonderful? Maybe.”
He looked at me with an intensity that made me uncomfortable. “The first time I saw you, I thought you looked familiar. I never imagined you were Dakota Blair’s twin sister. That was… quite a surprise.”
“Wait, you know Dakota too?” I asked, unable to hide my astonishment.
