Chapter 154
Elnora didn’t make any move in get up, didn’t even look Mila’s way.
Albert could instantly see that she had no interest in joining their game.
Enora, now that you’ve met Mr. Campbell, you don’t want to hang out with us old friends anymore?” Mila called out again, her voice sweet but her words laced with malice.
Most of the people here were folks they knew well, and plenty of them were in on the secret about Zack and Elnora seeing
each other.
she’d been bottling it up all day, and right now, she just couldn’t fake it anymore.
Mila and Mallory really are sisters. They talk exactly the same way, Marina thought.
Marina’s eyes flashed with disgust as she immediately spoke up.
“Mila, why do you seem kind of upset that my sister knows Mr. Campbell? Is there something you’re not telling us…? Marina let her words trail off, leaving the room hanging in suspense.
Most people at the engagement party had no idea Zack and Elnora had ever secretly dated.
But the folks still hanging out at the winery were all mutual friends of Zack and Elnora.
Before Mila got engaged to Zack, she and Elnora were actually pretty close.
On the surface, everyone acted like they didn’t care, but who knew what they were saying behind the scenes?
Mila had already snatched Elnora’s boyfriend once, so who was to say she wouldn’t do it again?
She was a repeat offender, after all.
When Mila noticed the way everyone was suddenly looking at her because of Marina’s words, she gritted her teeth.
“Marina, what nonsense are you talking about?” she snapped.
Marina met Mila’s gaze head–on, not backing down for a second. There wasn’t a trace of fear in her eyes.
“Mila, you really do look mad. Isn’t today supposed to be your big engagement with Zack? What’s got you so riled up?” Marina said, her voice steady, but every word hit its mark.
Mila’s face went stiff for a second before she realized Marina was baiting her on purpose.
Marina had already planted the seeds of doubt in everyone’s minds.
If Mila blew up now, she’d only be proving everyone’s suspicions right.
Zack’s brows drew together, his gaze sharp and cold as he looked at her.
Mila parted her lips, wanting to explain herself, but with so many eyes on her, if she tried too hard, it would only make her look guilty.
She forced herself to calm down, a hint of helplessness in her tone.
“If Elnora doesn’t want to play, then we’ll just play without her,” she said.
“I just thought Mr. Campbell came all this way, and it wouldn’t be right to just leave him hanging, so I wanted Forato

bring him over to join
After she sat down, she reached out and hooked her arm through
Zack’s.
Zack shot her a cool, indillerent look, didn’t say a word, and just glanced over at Elnora and Albert instead.
Mr. Campbell, want to join us?” Zack asked.
Albert didn’t answer right away. His eyes lingered on Elnora, full of emotion.
Ms. Finley, are you interested?” he asked, his voice soft and inviting.
Elnora tossed the question right back at him. “If you’re interested, Mr. Campbell, I’ll risk it all and join you.”
Albert raised an eyebrow, but ultimately, he declined Zack’s offer.
Zack’s jaw tightened, his eyes icy as he shot Elnora a look, but he didn’t push it any further.
The air grew tense for a moment.
Finally, someone broke the silence. “How about we play ‘Answer the Wrong Question‘?”
Someone suggested it, and everyone chimed in, so the atmosphere got lively again..
For the first round, they started going around the table clockwise, each person asking the one next to them a question. If they hesitated or actually answered, they had to take a drink.
The second round went counterclockwise, to make sure it was fair for everyone.
Before the game started, Elnora walked over to Marina.
She leaned in and said quietly, “I’m heading out.”
Marina shot a wary look at Albert, who was standing behind Elnora.
“Text me when you get home,” she said.
Elnora replied with a quick “okay” and left the winery with Albert.
As they walked away, Zack’s gaze lingered on Elnora as she left. He looked away quickly, but Mila didn’t miss the flicker of emotion in his eyes.
Everyone drew lots to decide where they’d sit.
Marina ended up sitting right in front of Mila. Since the first round was going clockwise, that meant she’d be the one asking Mila a question next.
She already had a question in mind, one that would definitely leave Mila stunned.
The game officially kicked off.
Everyone started going around the table clockwise, tossing out questions. Some of them were way out there.
Compared to theirs, Marina’s question wasn’t as crazy, but it definitely hit where it hurt.
Her mind was still racing when it was her turn to answer, and that was when Marina realized the one about to ask her a question was Daron.
For a split second, her thoughts scattered, like that moment as a kid when you suddenly lock eyes with your seet dish,

nervous, flustered hopeful, and totally lost
Daron didn’t give her any time to think. He just went straight for it
Do you like me? Daron asked, his voice low and direct
Marina stammered. “L”
She wanted to protest, but before she could even get the words out, she realized she was actually answering Daron’s
question.
That tiny pause sealed her fate. She’d hesitated, and that was all it took.
The whole group burst out laughing.
Who could dodge a question like that from Mr. Zamora? No girl could keep a straight face, someone teased.
“Honestly, I’d say ‘yes‘ too, no hesitation,” another added with a grin.
戰
“That’s just unfair. Mr. Zamora’s looks alone make asking Ms. Finley that question basically cheating,” someone joked.
Marina silently agreed, even if she didn’t say a word.
Marina turned and realized Daron was right next to her. First, his ridiculously handsome face hit her like a sucker punch, then his question finished her off. She felt like crying, but couldn’t even find the tears.
Marina steadied her breathing, making a silent promise to herself: when it was her turn, she’d make sure to get her revenge.
‘Great, just what I need, another enemy at the table, she thought to herself.
Daron just gave her a silent smile, poured her a drink without a word, and slid it over to her.
Marina picked up the glass and downed it in one smooth motion.
As soon as she set the glass down, Marina turned to Mila and fired off her question.
“So, Mila, who do you think Zack loves more, you or his ex?” Marina asked.
Mila’s fake smile vanished in an instant when she heard Marina’s question.
She didn’t bother to answer, just glared at Marina, her face darkening.
The air grew tense.
Even though Mallory and Mila usually didn’t get along, she still jumped in to defend her sister.
“Marina, are you out of your mind? It’s my sister’s engagement. How could you ask something like that?” Mallory shot back.
Marina tilted her head, pretending she didn’t get it.
“We’re just playing a game, aren’t we? Besides, people have asked way worse stuff and nobody got mad,” she replied, sounding innocent.
She was doing it on purpose, putting Mila and Zack on the spot.
‘Serves those cheating scumbags right for bullying my sister, Marina thought.
They knew Elnora was worried about the Finley Group and didn’t want to stir up trouble with anyone right now, so they just did whatever they wanted, totally shameless.
