Beck was, of course, there that night for Celeste.
When he saw her, his gaze fell on her face, and he said gently, “Long time no see.”
They had actually met just last month at a government–hosted conference for corporate representatives. Celeste didn’t think it had been that long.

Celeste remained focused on work and barely paid any attention to Wynn and her companions.
