Chapter 609
Although Jacob didn’t say anything, just from his expression, Wynn could already guess that Trevor must have done other things for Celeste that she didn’t know about.
She wasn’t surprised by this.
In fact, she had already mentally prepared herself for it.
Yet even so, her heart wasn’t as calm as she had imagined it would be. 1
Still, she didn’t reveal her true emotions. Her smile remained unchanged as she said to Jacob, “I understand. Thank you for the reminder.” 1
Jacob looked at her smile and paused.
Wynn didn’t say anything more and turned to leave. 1
In the blink of an eye, it was Sunday.
Ever since Betty had fallen seriously ill some time ago, Martha, taking her physical condition into account, had sent over quite a number of expensive gifts.
That morning, some local specialties sent by Betty’s relatives in Xelora arrived. Seeing that Celeste was free, Betty asked her to bring some over to Martha.
When Celeste arrived at the Fleming Manor and entered the house, she didn’t see Martha. Instead, she saw Trevor and Jordyn.
Trevor was reading in the living room.
When Jordyn saw her, her face lit up with delight as she rushed toward her. “Mom!”
Celeste bent down and hugged her. “When did you come back?”
“Dad said we should spend more time with Nana, so we came back last night!”
Hearing this, Celeste glanced at Trevor and nodded.
Trevor had already put down his book, his gaze resting on the mother and daughter. Seeing Peter and several maids carrying things inside, he said, “You brought so many things for Grandma?”
Celeste walked over and sat down on the sofa. Hearing this, she replied calmly, “Just some local specialties.”
Trevor smiled, “Grandma likes these kinds of local specialties.” 1
As he spoke, he took the teacup from Peter and personally poured her a cup of tea, placing it in front of her.
Celeste was just about to ask where Martha had gone when Martha came out of the restroom. Seeing Celeste, her eyes filled with joy as she smiled. “Cel is here!”
Celeste stood up and went over. “Grandma.”

Martha was clearly delighted. She sat down together with Celeste.
After chatting for a bit, her gaze fell on Trevor, then shifted to Celeste. Lowering her voice apologetically, she said, “I didn’t tell him that you were coming today. He and Jo came back last night…”
“I know,” Celeste replied.
She could already tell from what Jordyn had said earlier.
After chatting with Martha for a while, Jordyn, unwilling to be ignored, burrowed into Celeste’s arms.
She climbed onto her lap and curled up against her, hugging her. “Mom, I wanted to go see you yesterday, but Dad said you were busy, so I didn’t go.”
Celeste hummed in acknowledgment and gently patted her head to show she understood.
Martha could also sense that Jordyn was more attached to Celeste now than before. 2
Naturally, she was happy for Celeste.
At noon that day, Celeste stayed at the Fleming family’s manor for lunch.
After the meal, she accompanied Martha for a while longer and then planned to leave.
However, Jordyn couldn’t bear to part with her and wanted to go shopping with her.
Unable to refuse her, Celeste agreed.
Jordyn was overjoyed. She quickly changed her clothes and came downstairs. As she pulled Celeste toward the door, she also said to Trevor, “Dad, let’s go.” 3
Before Celeste could react, Trevor had already stood up. “Alright.” 11
