Chapter 6 Knowing Your Boundary
Eliana’s words hit Logan like a punch. His face darkened instantly.
Just a little while ago, Samuel had been fussing about wanting some snacks from the other side. Isabella had no idea what he meant after listening for ages, so Logan
ended up taking Samuel himself.
And now, in just a few minutes, Eliana was staging a full–blown scene. Logan had expected her to find some excuse to come back, but yelling and flaring up in public was completely unacceptable.
“Logan, please, you’ve got to explain!” Isabella’s eyes lit up the moment she saw him approach. “Ms. Lyons insists this bracelet is hers, and she even accused us of stealing it.”
Her eyes reddened as she choked with emotion, almost on the verge of tears.
Since last night, Logan had already been in a foul mood toward Eliana. Now, seeing her make a scene like this, he was even more irritated.
He was sure that because of her carelessness and storming off on a whim, Samuel had had an allergic reaction and ended up in the hospital yesterday.
Since then, nothing had gone smoothly for him. Last night had been a mess until the early hours. This morning was no better. Wrong clothes, messed–up breakfast… a million issues with Samuel.
Logan’s temper was already simmering, and Eliana’s words were pouring gasoline over the fire. Cold as steel, he fixed her with a stare. “Apologize to Isabella.”
Eliana blinked, half–laughing through her disbelief. “Logan, are you joking? She stole my bracelet and you want me to apologize?”
“The bracelet was a gift from me. She didn’t steal it,” Logan replied. “You’re accusing her without even knowing the facts. Don’t you think you owe her an apology?”
He scoffed, crossing his arms. “And anyway, we’re married. Things at home aren’t divided. Do you honestly think we’ve been tallying every penny spent in the Eliot household all these years? Just apologize. Don’t make me repeat myself.”
Eliana raised her eyebrow. Logan’s tone was so familiar to her, like the world would end if she didn’t comply.
In their six years of marriage, every argument had been like this. A warning that if she didn’t back down, she might lose him forever.
Once, she had loved him blindly, letting it twist her judgment. But after dying once, Eliana had woken up. Now to her, his threats were no more than laughing stocks.
“I don’t even know where your boundary is. Since when does something I’m not using

become yours?” said Eliana calmly. “You’ve always said couples need boundaries. I borrowed one of your books before, and you blew it up in front of my parents, demanding they ‘teach me a lesson.‘ Now you stole a bracelet worth a fortune, and you just brush it off?”
The onlookers started to whisper. Logan was clearly caught off guard by her words. His gaze turned cold, ready to retort. But then Isabella stepped forward. Sensing the tension, she tried to play the angel.
“Logan, let me apologize. It’s my fault,” she said. “I shouldn’t have accepted your gift. I‘ m only making Ms. Lyons upset.”
With that, she reached out, ready to remove the bracelet. But Samuel, quiet until now, suddenly pushed Eliana aside. He used all his strength, and Eliana stumbled back a few steps.
Seeing her almost fall, his eyes burned, not with concern but with rage. “Why do you always have to accuse Isabella?” he demanded. “I gave her the bracelet. You’ve got so many, and you never wear any of them. You’d rather waste it than let someone else wear it?”
That He then huffed, raising his voice. “And it looks way better on Isabella than on you. bracelet is hers! You don’t work or earn anything at home. How dare you talk to Dad like that? Anything in the Eliot family belongs to Dad!”
Eliana’s chest tightened. The sting of his words cut deep. Even though she’d been hurt by him before, Samuel was still her own flesh and blood. Seeing him act like this tore at her heart.
But she forced the sting down, hardening it into steel. Seeing Isabella’s smug little face, Eliana turned to her.
“Pathetic. Do you really think pushing a kid forward will make this go away?” she snorted. “This bracelet belongs to the Lyons family. It’s my personal property from before the marriage. If you refuse to give it back, I won’t hesitate to make a scene. The one looking bad won’t be me.”
Isabella’s face flushed, realizing her plan had backfired. She’d expected Eliana to crumble seeing Samuel’s loyalty, but instead, Eliana’s words were sharp and fearless.
Panicked, Isabella quickly removed the bracelet, holding it out with a look of fake grievance. Eliana took it without a second thought, wiping it down as if it was dirty.
Isabella paled, then she turned to Samuel. Trying to defend her, Samuel immediately spoke up, “So what? Come on, Isabella. Let’s go. I’ll ask Dad to get you even better ones. Way nicer than hers.”
“Samuel, where did you learn to be this mean, just like them?” Irene finally snapped, unable to hold back. “Your mom is the one who loves you the most. You should know

your place!”
Irene had been biting her tongue all day. Eliana had always protected Logan and Samuel. Any time Irene spoke the truth, Eliana would scold her. But seeing Eliana now, she couldn’t stay silent.
Hearing her words, Logan’s gaze suddenly turned icy on Irene. Eliana yanked her back before she could speak again.
She knew better than anyone did. With Logan’s influence, if he decided to target Irene, there’d be no way for her to defend. Eliana was clear–headed now. She couldn’t fully protect Irene yet, and she wasn’t going to let her get hurt over this.
Holding Irene close, Eliana called out to Logan, “Wait, Logan.”
Logan turned his head. His eyes glinted with cold amusement, as if everything had gone exactly according to plan.
