Eliana had long known how shameless Nathan could be, but healing him say that now made her realize she’d given him way
too much credit before.
With Sarah already coming out with her coat, Eliana wasn’t in the mood to argue with Nathan.
To avoid worrying Sarah, Eliana got out of the car and turned to Nathan, putting on a serious expression. “Thanks for driving me home, Mr. Turner.
“I had a bit too much to drink earlier. Sorry if I made a fool of myself. Looking forward to working with you on the Westridge project,” she said and extended her hand to Nathan.
Sarah watched from the side as Nathan reined himself in, putting on a strictly businesslike attitude. He shook Eliana’s hand. “Looking forward to working together.”
After gently letting go of Eliana’s hand, Nathan looked up at Sarah. “Mrs. Lyons, I’ll head out now.”
Sarah nodded, and once the car was gone, she helped steady Eliana as they walked inside.
Sarah had been upset earlier when she saw Eliana leaning on Nathan, worried about her improper behavior. “Eliana, is he the Mr. Turner you mentioned? The one who agreed to invest in the Westridge project?”
Eliana nodded. “Yeah, I talked business with a few suppliers tonight too. Tomorrow at work, I’ll make sure to lock everything down.
“Mom, I promise I won’t let you suffer again in this life. Trust me I know I can do it,” she said, her voice still a little tipsy as she looked at Sarah seriously.
Thinking about the hardships they’d gone through before, Eliana felt a deep ache of regret.
But hearing that, Sarah just looked at her with affection and exasperation. “You silly girl, you’re drunk and talking nonsense again.”
As Sarah was about to call for the maid to make some warm milk, she saw Eliana suddenly clutch her stomach. “What’s wrong?” she quickly helped her sit down on the couch, her eyes full of worry.
Eliana sat on the couch, taking a moment to catch her breath. Once the sharp pain eased up a bit, she finally spoke. “It’s nothing, just my stomach acting up again..

“It’s been bothering me on and off for a while. I guess I just had too much to drink tonight, so it flared up.”
Sarah looked worried and said, “You really shouldn’t take this lightly. You need to see a doctor tomorrow. And bring the doctor’s report back so I can take a look.”
With Sarah being so persistent, Eliana had no choice but to agree. “Alright, I know, Mom. I’ll go.”

Eliana respect for life and cherished it even more. So this time, she wasn’t just brushing Sarah off. She really meant to see a doctor.
“Alright, go get some rest now. Don’t wait up your dad. When he gets back, I’ll tell him the investment for the Westridge project is sorted out. He’ll be thrilled.
“You’re really grown up now,”
said softly, her eyes still full of worry.
Eliana was feeling pretty rough from all the drinking. After having some warm milk, she headed upstairs to get some rest.
Meanwhile, at the Eliot Mansion, Logan opened the email Andrew had just sent him.

When he found out Eliana and Nathan had gone to high school together, his heart skipped a beat, and a wave of unease surged within him.
He didn’t know how Eliana felt about her old classmate, but it was clear that Nathan had complicated feelings for her.
At the thought that Nathan might be competing for Eliana, Logan’s face turned pale.
Just then, his phone rang. He saw that it was Aurora calling, and he forced himself to pick it up, despite his frustration.
“Logan, what’s going on with Eliana? She’s like a whole new person. I ran into her at the banquet hall today, and she actually snapped at me.
“And she even showed up as another guy’s companion. Seriously, what’s happening between you two? Are you just going to let her run wild like this?” Aurora complained.
Logan was already stressed about all this, and Aurora’s rant just made his mood even darker. “You’re calling me at this hour for this?” he snapped.
“Not exactly. I just wanted to give you a heads up. Eliana might be pregnant,” Aurora said, sounding all serious.
“I bet she’s trying to use the baby to hold it over you. Anyway, Logan, Mom and I both agree, even if Eliana really is pregnant, you can’t forgive her this time, got it?
“If she doesn’t come apologize to me and Mom, she’s not setting foot in this house again. And don’t go soft just because she’s got a baby or tries to sweet–talk you, okay?”
Aurora’s nagging kept echoing in Logan’s ears, and he was honestly getting fed up. He just agreed absentmindedly just to shut her up.
But after he hung up, Logan’s thoughts were all over the place.
‘Wait, Eliana’s pregnant?‘ Logan wondered, his heart skipping a beat. ‘How could that even be possible? We haven’t slept together for years now!‘
Especially after Isabella saved him overseas five years ago, he hadn’t even laid a finger on Eliana since then. He couldn’t figure out what he really wanted, so he just kept finding reasons to sleep in separate rooms from Eliana.
If Eliana was pregnant, it must have been from that night three months ago.
He wasn’t sure if he’d really been that drunk or if someone had spiked his drink, but when he saw Eliana after she put the kid to bed, he couldn’t resist and pulled her into the bedroom.
But Eliana instinctively pushed him away, kept grilling him about Isabella, and that just totally ruined the moment for him, so he ended up stopping.
Logan rubbed his temples, trying to remember exactly what went down that night. But the booze had hit him way too hard. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t recall a thing.
‘So did something really go down that night? Is Eliana actually pregnant?‘ Logan thought. The thought made Logan sigh in relief, though he couldn’t quite explain why.
‘No wonder she’s been so fearless lately. She’s trying to leverage my kid against me. I knew it. With Eliana’s personality, there’s no way she’d ever let go of me and the kid, he thought.
The next morning, Eliana woke up with a pounding headache from the hangover. Her stomach still hurt, so after breakfast, she headed straight to the hospital for a check–up.

Just as she was about to walk into the doctor’s office. Nathan’s assistant called, asking her to come in early for the contract signing.
Eliana replied, “Sorry, I’m at the hospital right now. Could you le Mr. Turner know I’ll be running a bit late?”
