Chapter 43
Kane’s POV

As we made our way to the front doors to leave, I couldn’t shake the tension that lingered in the air. I now felt almost bad for making Tessa believe that she would be stuck here forever – living under Margo Felicities cruel rulings after seeing exactly how she feels about them both.
I knew that they had both wronged us back at the festival, but perhaps we could have squashed it on the flight back here as opposed to taking things this far in order to scare them both.
Tessa was in the clear now, having just finished all of her paperwork to make our match official, but
as for Erin, she was still currently in no man’s land with Seth.
There was still a nagging doubt in the back of my mind about whether or not Margo would actually approve Seth’s request for a trial period with Erin but if not, I would just need to find another way. The woman would be an idiot not to accept the request after knowing just how pissed off she had
managed to make me during that meeting!
If that was her tame, then I would hate to meet her in full force – but I can imagine exactly how she runs things around here and I don’t fucking like it!
“It went as well as it could have, I almost died when you made her kneel the whole time you spoke!” Seth suddenly cackled loudly, with the sound echoing around the eerily silent corridors.
I too couldn’t help but laugh next, knowing that although the whole ordeal had been slightly
dramatic it was deserved nonetheless.
–
“We laid out the facts, and now it’s up to that witch to do the right thing. At one point I just wanted to drop her by the throat when she was still attempting to speak out of turn!” I state the fact, as Seth pauses and doubles over laughing – holding his knees as I laugh more at his reaction to my
words.
–
Well I’m glad that he at least found the whole thing amusing!
“Bro I swear! If you would have done that I would’ve lost it! I really tried my best to hold my laugh
in during that whole damn meeting!” Seth informs me, wiping his teary eyes before we round the
last corner.

Chapter 43
As we reached the front doors, a young woman who was stood nearby caught a glimpse of us and
quickly approached us, her expression neutral but welcoming.

Alpha Kane, sir, I’ve been assigned to escort you both to your suite for the night,” She announced
softly, her voice respectful and her gaze lowered.
I nodded in acknowledgment, grateful for the distraction from our earlier conversation with Margo
which hadn’t been this pleasant or professional. This tiny girl could probably do a better job already
at running this place compared to her!
“Lead the way,” I replied, falling into step behind her as she led us out of the front doors and across
the gravel to the same hotel like building we had stayed in before.
Despite the late hour, the centre was still alive with activity, with the sound of female voices echoing
in the distance towards the main school building.
I couldn’t help but wonder where Tessa and Erin were, assuming that they would no doubt both be
back at their little apartment in which they both shared.
“Right this way…” The female announces, as we follow her inside and towards the elevator.
We step inside, as a thick silence falls between the three of us having been crammed into the space
for a moment – heading up to the top floor.
The doors eventually ding, opening up, and bringing us back into the very suite we had stayed in the first time around – probably the biggest they have in here.
As we reached the room, finding our stuff to already be inside, the young woman bid us a brief goodnight and left us to our own devices.
“Well, here’s to hoping for a better day tomorrow,” Seth remarked, his voice tinged with exhaustion. as he immediately goes towards the drinks trolley to pour us both a well deserved whiskey.
I sit by the window on a sofa chair, looking around at what I could see of the centre grounds, understanding that Tessa’s apartment building was on the opposite side of us – probably for the best.
I would feel too tempted to run over there to let her know the good news that I was planning to keep her around, but she would find out tomorrow nonetheless.

“What’s the deal with this place?” Seth grumbles, before we hear a door unlock from somewhere
which causes us both to perk up in alarm…

Seconds later, Anthony appears, with a towel hung around his hips and his head wet from being in
the shower.
“Shit man we almost forgot about you!” I state loudly, laughing as Anthony shakes his head at us
both and grumbles.
“No wonder, I don’t blame either of you for forgetting when I was landed on babysitting duties this morning to cover for you two! Those two girls have been fucking sad all day, and they think you’ve both cut ties with them completely at this point – and I had to sit there in silence and say nothing!” Anthony informs us with his complaints, as my heart tugs a little from inside of my chest before I
square myself up again.
“They deserved it.” I shrug, taking a drink, as Anthony shakes his head and laughs – walking back off
to his room.
“You two are a pair of stubborn ass children sometimes do you know that?!” He calls back to us, Seth chuckles and refills my glass with the whiskey bottle.
Sure, we had probably both been stubborn and petty in handling this, but things would work out tomorrow and as a result of this, neither of them will ever act out like that again! It was simply a learning experience for them both…

“Yeah so back to what I was saying before, what’s the deal with the set up around here? It feels so sketchy compared to the other centres that we’ve visited don’t you think?” Seth discusses, as the sky grows darker outside and I nod in agreement.
He’s right, something was incredibly off about this place…
“I know. I’ll have this place reported and investigated as soon as we get home. I’ll set up a meeting with the country leaders too – these places should all be getting inspected every so often.” I state, knowing that none of the leaders will deny me the right to speak to them anyway.
I may be young, but those old bastards know that I am more than a threat to them with the size of my pack, the strength of my warriors and my power as an Alpha.
The countries leaders were pretty much there for show–to help run the place since none of us real

Alphas had the time for the extra work.
Sometimes though, the title would get to their heads and they would forget themselves becoming a bigger pain in the ass for me than what was necessary but I would let it slide for the sake of world.
‘peace‘.
“She doesn’t care about the girls at all! Yet she’s pretty much in charge of raising them since what? The age of twelve? How does she just not care? She didn’t even bother to question what Leo did to Erin did you notice that?” Seth rants, thinking back to the meeting and how badly Margo had come
across from start to finish.
She was definitely in the wrong job role… she would be better suited as an army camp trainer –
thrown in with us males at this rate!
“We can speak to Tessa and Erin tomorrow and find out more about the shit that goes on around here! Until then, just don’t think about it too much, she will be dealt with accordingly in due course.” I confirm, finishing my second drink before placing the empty glass on the little side table.
Seth huffs slightly and nods along, finishing his own drink before we both stand and head to our separate rooms to call it a night.
I’ll see Tessa tomorrow, it’s not a big deal, I can let her suffer for one more night and it will all be worth it in the end. They have each other to help keep one another sane…
Everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.
