Chapter 59
Kane’s POV
“I can’t wait another fucking day to go there! Anything could be happening to them! I express my frustration, pacing back and forth in Kions meeting room
in front of both mine and his best men.
We had waited for all of my numbers to arrive in Russia, and with everyone here now, we had been equipping ourselves with the knowledge needed before
attacking Dimitri’s hell hole of a pack.
It was crucial to come up with the easiest escape plan in order to get the girls out of there – alive!
“We understand your frustration but we will get them both back! You just have to be prepared!” Kion urges, as I groan loudly cutting him off.
“We are prepared! We are not a weak pack – we are known back home for our fighting skills Kion! If there is a good time to attack – it is right now!” I argue, as Seth and Anthony sit in silence amongst our men – letting me take the floor with this.
With tension thick in the air, Kion exchanged a meaningful glance with his own advisors before stepping forward to address me directly.
“Kane, I understand your urgency here, but rushing into this without a solid plan is a mistake against Dimitri! It could cost the lives of your men and also the two girls!” Kion warns, as I look to Seth and Anthony who both seem convinced.
“I think you should take the advice man! Better to be prepared than sorry, right?” Anthony offers his opinion as I grumble and pinch my nose with my
thumb and forefinger.
I paused in my pacing, turning to face him with a furrowed brow. “So when do you suggest we put our plans to play here Kion? I’ll wait one more day and that is final! I won’t wait any longer!” I argue, my stance on the matter solid.
Kion took a moment to gather his thoughts as he stood from his chair and walked over to his window – overlooking his grounds as the room fell silent.
“I have an idea… to get things moving a little faster… before we strike.” Kion finally talks, gaining my interest as he turns to face me – features void of
emotion.
“I have had a spy of mine moving back and forth between our packs for months now – knowing a way to sneak himself in to Dimitri’s pack as a guard without being suspected. He reports back to me every two weeks with updates on how Dimitri is running his shit!” Kion explains, as I nod slowly along with
him.
This could be good… he might be on to something here…
“He is due back here tonight and I can send him out again in the morning. I’m thinking, maybe he could help to sneak the girls out of there – getting them back in your arms before you strike the pack which makes it a win/win?” Kion suggests, as I pull an impressed look and nod my approval.
I like that better… knowing I can cause havoc for Dimitri and his pack without there being consequences for Tessa or Erin.
“Will your man definitely be back here tonight?” I confirm, as Kion nods and glances down at his watch.
“Should be here soon, we can wait down in the lounge for him?” Kion offers the room, as the men mumble their agreements having had sat in here for endless hours at this point.
We had the numbers, had the intel and now we even had a spy that could bring me what I want before I punish the Russian pack for taking something that belongs to me…
Just as the men file out of the door and I make a move to follow them, Kion reaches out to stop me with his hand finding my shoulder.

“A minute…” Kion requests, asking me to stay behind with him for a moment of privacy as I nod and watch the last of our men exit the room.

“What?” I push on, the second that we are alone moving to sit opposite the Alpha as he also sinks down in to the chair for comfort – inhaling air before
releasing a sigh.
“We may be able to get your girls out to give you more security before the attack” Kion begins as my eyebrows draw together.
“What’s the but?” I cut to the chase, knowing that there was certain to be one coming.
I knew his idea of getting them out seemed far too good to be true!
“The but is… that your two females aren’t the only two in his pack who are in danger. There are numbers of females trapped under Dimitri’s rules – many pregnant and others raising the elite offspring all within the one compound. It may not be as easy as just attacking and destroying his pack – we must consider the innocent lives.” Kion urges, showing me a more thoughtful side which helps to confirm our alliance.
From the short time I had known him, the Alpha seemed genuine and locked in with ending his own brothers cruel rulings not far from his own pack
grounds.
“It is only a matter of time before he targets my pack and its woman – hence why I want to help you destroy him.” He concludes, leaning back and opening a drawer to pull out a tin of cigars.
He offers me one; which I shrug and take deciding that it might help to calm me down slightly. He clicks open his lighter, holding the brown end to the flame before inhaling and finding relief in the nicotine.
I follow the action, lighting my own next, before also leaning back to think more on what he was saying.
“I understand.” I state, as my mind races to find the best way to get around the fact.
I would happily storm the compound, killing every male in sight, however I didn’t want to wind up killing innocent females and children – that was certain.
Tessa wouldn’t want that either, even if it meant saving her and leaving this place the minute she is in my arms – it was deeper than that now.
As I sat there contemplating Kion’s words, a sense of responsibility settled over me like a crushing weight. He was right, our actions couldn’t just be about rescuing Tessa and Erin. We had to consider the lives of all those trapped under Dimitri’s pack – including the innocent women and children.
Taking a long drag from my cigar, I exhaled slowly, the smoke circling around me in lazy tendrils.
“We can’t just storm in there blindly, I know that now.” I admit, the weight of the decision crushing my heart at the thought of not getting to Tessa as soon as physically possible.
“We need a plan that minimises collateral damage while still working to take down Dimitri! After the pack is overrun, you can combine your packs and rule over both. Is that the goal here, yes?” I question him, as he nods and puffs out some more smoke.
“Yes, agreed. I admire how you all run things back on your home land… with the females being offered out fairly and with there being rules in place to prevent abuse and bad behaviour. I am also a firm believer that the woman will fall pregnant more easily if it is with someone that they actually like!” Kion explains, his accent thick but his English fluent.
“By all means, we aren’t perfect either, but it is definitely a step up from this place. I think if you combine your packs, grow your numbers, then you can set up a similar system and convince the rest of this country to follow suit based on your success rates alone!” I show my admiration for his idea, as he nods and smiles in agreement – enjoying that I respected his views.
Before we can discuss anything any further, a knock comes down on the door before it is creaked open to reveal a new face.
“Ah it is Pavel – the spy I told you about!” Kion ushers him to come in, as he eyes me curiously before doing as the Alpha asked.

“Eto Al’fa Kane, on zdes‘ chtoby spasti svoyu polovinku ot Al’fa Dimitri. (This is Alpha Kane, he is here to save his mate from Alpha Dimitri).” I listen instantly as Kion converses with the male in Russian, to which he nods once and rubs his hands together.
I take note of his blood stained knuckles, knowing that with the lack of cuts the blood didn’t belong to him.

“Dve devushki, odna blondinka po imeni Tessa i drugaya temnovolosaya po imeni Erin. (Two girls, one Blonde named Tessa and the other dark haired named Erin.)” Kion continues to tell him, as I sit there awkwardly puffing my cigar and not understanding what was being said other than the girls‘ names.
The Russian scratches the back of his neck, glancing to me before his eyes settle back on his own Alpha.
“Da, dvoye novichkov, ya ikh videl! (Yes, the two newbies, I’ve seen them!)” The Russian suddenly begins to talk back, as I open my hands out to catch Kions
attention.
I was becoming impatient and wanted to know what the conversation was about.
“He thinks he has seen them – his English isn’t good.” Kion updates briefly, as I nod and he returns to his Russian conversation.
“Tell him the plan… to have them brought here by tomorrow night!” I request, as Kion nods and relays the message to him in their foreign tongue.
I was growing impatient and more anxious about Tessa’s whereabouts by the minute – I needed to know that things had started to move along – before I lose my damn mind!
