Eliana had worked hard to be here today because she didn’t want things to stray too far from her past life. She wanted to avoid the butterfly effect messing up the success of the project.
But after Logan stirred things up, Eliana was ready to walk away from working with Tobias.
If Tobias and Logan were so intertwined, even if she forced the contract through, she couldn’t trust Tobias to be truly committed.
Right now, Logan still didn’t believe Eliana could actually take over the Westridge project, so he wasn’t showing much
emotion.
But once he realized the project was really slipping out of his hands, he wouldn’t be playing it cool anymore.
The Eliot Group had already poured a ton of money into this project. Even if Logan himself was willing to write it off, the shareholders definitely wouldn’t.
If Logan could interfere, he definitely would, and things would just get a whole lot messier.
Thinking it over, Eliana didn’t even bother heading back to the private room for Tobias. She just turned and walked out.
Meanwhile, Logan stood in the private room for a long time, still reeling from what had just happened. The way Eliana had spoken so confidently made his unease grow stronger.
It wasn’t until someone knocked on the door that Logan finally snapped back to himself. He went to the door and opened it.
Addy was waiting at the door, his eyes filled with concern. “Are you okay?”
Logan nodded. “I’m fine.” As he spoke, he headed out. “Let’s go, didn’t you mention dinner?”
“No rush,” Addy said, leaning casually against the wall and lighting a cigarette. He looked at Logan and asked, “Do you know why your wife came here?”
Logan’s brow furrowed slightly. “What’s she doing here with Tobias?”
Addy looked up at Logan, but didn’t say a word.
But soon enough, Logan realized. “The Westridge project? She actually thinks she can take that over all by herself? What a pipe dream.”
“It’s not just a pipe dream anymore,” Addy said seriously. “Are you really that clueless? She’s already got a new investor.”
For the first time, Logan’s face actually showed some real emotion.
Seeing he didn’t know, Addy didn’t hold back and said directly, “You know Nathan Turner, right? He’s getting ready to invest in the Westridge project.
“At yesterday’s charity gala, he showed up with your wife…” Addy continued, raising his brow. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was just off about it.
After a pause, he went on, “Nathan took her all over to meet different suppliers. Those companies that went on strike because of you? They’re out of the picture now.
“They’ve already found replacement suppliers. The only reason she came to Tobias was because his patented products are hard to replace, but it looks like she’s ready to give up and find someone else.”
Logan’s face darkened with realization. No wonder Eliana had been so confident in standing up to him. She really did have

Logan was getting more and more frustrated. After his talk with Addy, he didn’t feel like sticking around anymore. He just said a quick goodbye to everyone and left.
On the way back, Logan couldn’t shake the unease. He called Andrew and told him to dig deeper into the relationship between Nathan and Eliana.
‘If they were just high school classmates, Nathan didn’t even finish school before heading overseas. No way they’d still be close after all these years, Logan thought. There had to be something he didn’t know.
Logan was dead sure Eliana couldn’t pull off the Westridge project, and just as convinced that nobody in Ockgend would ever openly challenge him.
So when Eliana started demanding a divorce and insisting he give back the land, he signed the papers without a second thought. He thought everything was under control, but now reality was completely derailing.
The thought of how much money and effort he had invested in that land made Logan slam his fist into the car door.
If Eliana really went through with the divorce, and the project ended up with Lyons Group and Nathan, not only would he lose money, but it would also feel like he’d done all the work just to let someone else reap the rewards.
Logan was already on edge, but when he walked into his messy house, he just couldn’t hold back his frustration anymore.
He couldn’t understand why something that should have been so simple, something Eliana could do without breaking a sweat, was turning into such a huge problem for him.
Sighing, Logan was about to head to his room when he saw Hannah coming downstairs, still muttering. “I honestly have no idea how Eliana managed to raise Samuel. How did he turn out like this?
“We’ve already changed tutors a few times, but he’s only getting worse. He even made one of them cry. No one wants to take him on anymore.
“I really can’t deal with him at all. Isabella said she’s taking him out for a couple of days tomorrow, so I’m just going to let her handle it.”
Logan was way too annoyed to care what Hannah was saying. He just nodded and went straight to his room.
Seeing Logan didn’t have any objections, Hannah called Isabella and asked her to come over and help look after Samuel for a few days.
Though Isabella wasn’t keen on babysitting, the pressure from the charity gala made her eager to please, so she agreed without hesitation.
Meanwhile, after things with Tobias hit a dead end, Eliana had been hustling nonstop, hunting down a supplier that could really match what Tobias offered.
Tobias’s company had a monopoly in Lamgate, so Eliana had to rely on friends and favors to find another option.
She was incredibly busy these days, constantly traveling, just trying to find a reliable partner. Most of the deals were already settled, but she didn’t want anything to go wrong now.
Today was no different. She was on the road to meet a new supplier when she received an anonymous message. It contained a photo of Samuel, tied to a chair with tape over his mouth.
As soon as she opened the photo, another message followed: [If you want him alive, come alone and pay the ransom. No cops. I’m watching your phone. If you try anything, your son will die.]
