itness has become much more severe recently
“Bot because he’s still so young, the recovery period after surgery is expecially crucial
“Mr. Turner happens to have the right connections. If we can get top–notch international medical equipment and a dedicated specialist to oversee his recovery, it would be a huge Help for Mr. Samuel.
“When Mr. Turner mentioned this just now, I was honestly thrilled. With proper care during this time, Mr. Samuel’s eyesight should pretty much return to nonnal.
“The only issue is that the equipment is patented by the manufacturer. Our hospital has tried to negotiate a partnership before, but we never managed to reach an agreement.
“Now that Mr. Turner is facilitating the connection, things should go much more smoothly.”
“Mrs. Eliot, this is a rare opportunity. I hope you can discuss it with Mr. Eliot and sign the agreement as soon as possible so we can put it to use right away.
“The sooner Mr. Samuel can start using the equipment, the better his chances of recovering his eyesight. Since he’s still so little, the better his recovery, the more peace of mind for all of us.”
The doctor was truly considering what was best for Samuel when he made this suggestion. He couldn’t wrap his head around why Eliana looked so unsure.
He had no clue about the delicate situation between Eliana and Logan, so he just couldn’t get why she’d hesitate when it was obviously the best thing for Samuel.
But all he could do was drop a hint. After all, it was up to the kid’s guardians in the end.
Right now, Eliana was really hesitating. Per the divorce agreement, Logan had custody of Samuel, so it made sense for Logan to be the one to sign the papers.
But the contact was through Nathan, and given how suspicious Logan and his family have been lately, they’d never agree to use anything Nathan suggested.
Not only would they refuse, they’d probably think Nathan was up to something, which would only make things messier.
In just a week, she’d finally be done with Logan and the Eliots. Honestly, she just wanted to cut ties and move on.
But Samuel was still her son, and he was only five. Even after all the heartbreak from before, she couldn’t just ignore a chance to do what’s best for him.
After a long moment of hesitation, Eliana finally put her name on the dotted line, telling herself it was the right thing to do for Samuel.
She already had a feeling this would probably drag her back into Logan’s world, but once the divorce was final, she might not even get to be there for Samuel anymore.
So right now, she just wanted to do something for her son while she still could.
After signing the papers, Eliana was about to go into the hospital room to see Samuel. But to her surprise, Logan was inside, staying by Samuel’s side.

She could hear Logan chatting with Samuel, and Samuel was baling and throwing a fit from the post–surgery discomfort, Eliana let out a small sigh, finally able to relax a little.
If Samuel still had the energy to kick up a fuss, she figured he w going to be just fine.
But seeing Logan so out of his depth trying to calm Samuel down, all Eliana felt was a cold indifference in her heart.
Let them see for themselves how tough it is to take care of a kid Eliana thought. Maybe now the Eliots will stop acting like Tve been living the high life off their name these past five years
With that, Eliana gave Samuel one last look
As she walked out of the hospital and wefore walking away
about to head out, she heard Nathan calling out to her from nearby. She couldn’t
hide her surprise as Eliana asked, “Why are you still here?”
Nathan was leaning casually against his car, the streetlight casting a soft glow over him, making him look even more striking.
Eliana had always known he was good–looking. Otherwise, she never would’ve fallen for that cocky vibe back when she was just a kid who only cared about looks.
Even though she’d seen it before, the moment she glanced over, she was still caught off guard by how good he looked right
now.
It had been ages since she’d last seen him, but Nathan was still as handsome as ever.
If anything, he’d grown even more confident and commanding, with irresistible than he was ten years ago.
Time had been kind to him. After a decade, it was like he hadn’t aged
a
authority that made him even more
Noticing her gaze, Nathan stood up a bit straighter, a faint smile playing at his lips
as he locked eyes with her.
It was only then that Eliana realized she’d been staring, and she quickly looked away. But that made her feel even more awkward, so she looked back up, trying to play it cool as she asked, “Were you waiting for me?”
Nathan nodded. “After everything I did for you, aren’t you at least going to thank me?” He said it while giving Eliana a direct look, not holding back in the slightest.
“You really haven’t changed a bit. Still the same as you always were,” Eliana said.
Hearing that, Nathan raised an eyebrow and walked over to her. “How so?”
“Still shameless as ever,” Eliana shot back without missing a beat. Honestly, I’ve never seen someone actually ask to be thanked before.”
Nathan didn’t get mad at her teasing. He just smirked, a hint of amusement flickering at the corners of his mouth. “Ten years have gone by and you still remember all that? Don’t tell me you’re still carrying a torch for me,” he said. Eliana gave Nathan a withering look, couldn’t be bothered to say anything, and spun around, ready to leave.
“Eliana, you really haven’t changed a bit. Still as cheap as ever,” Nathan called out, watching her walk away. “What, can’t even
treat me to dinner?”
Eliana stopped, turned to face him, and said, “What do you want to eat?”

“Get in the car, Nathan said, heading back to his ridle.
Eliana followed him to the car and got in.
Once they were on the road, Nathan said. “Let’s go eat near our ligh school, the place we used to go to all the time
His tone was casual, as if it was nothing special. But the moment he said it, Eliana’s heart skipped a beat.
