Chapter 624
There was no way Celeste could go back with Jordyn.

Just as she was thinking about how to respond, Trevor spoke up, saying, “Let’s talk about your mom moving back another time. She’s been busy all day and is already very tired.” (1
Jordyn looked up and saw that Celeste was frowning, clearly exhausted. So, she didn’t insist any further.
“Okay then, next time,” she said.
Then, she added, “Mom, you should hurry up and take a shower and rest. I’ll stay here with you tonight.”
Celeste nodded. “Okay.”
When Celeste went in to shower, she took her phone with her and sent Trevor a message.
“You should tell Jo about the divorce as soon as possible.”
He replied quickly. “I know. But it’s hard to explain.”
Celeste understood what he meant. 2
Judging by Jordyn’s reaction today, if she knew they were getting divorced, she definitely wouldn’t accept it.
And if they went ahead and finalized the divorce without telling her, once she found out later, she would probably react even more intensely.
Celeste replied. “Think of a way.”
Trevor responded. “I will.”
After that, Celeste didn’t send him any more messages. And Trevor didn’t message her again either.
By the time Celeste finished showering and came out of the bathroom, Jordyn was already asleep.
Celeste tucked her in and looked at the smile that still lingered on Jordyn’s lips even in her sleep. She couldn’t help zoning out for a moment.
That night, she didn’t sleep well.
The next day, after dropping Jordyn off at school, she went straight to work.
Seeing that she looked unwell, Matthias asked about it. After hearing the reason, he paused. “This really is a tough situation.”
It was her child. Since she had given birth to her, she had to take on that responsibility.
But between her and Trevor…
He lightly patted Celeste on the shoulder. He had no experience in this area and couldn’t offer any useful advice.
That afternoon, Celeste went to Fleming Group again.
This time, there was a meeting, and Trevor was present.

They greeted each other with a nod, like unfamiliar strangers, and after that, there was basically no interaction at all.
Because she was busy with the government project they had won earlier, even after finishing her work at Fleming Group, Celeste still had to return to her own company to work overtime.
Over the next two to three days, perhaps because Jordyn knew Celeste had been working late every night, she didn’t bring up the topic of “going back home to live” again.
At this point, there were only two days left before the end of Celeste and Trevor’s divorce mandatory waiting period.
Thinking about how Jordyn still didn’t know about the divorce, Celeste hesitated for a moment, then sent Trevor a message.
“I’m free in the morning two days from now.”
More than half an hour later, Trevor replied, “I’m free too.” 1
Just as Celeste finished reading the message, another one came in from him.
“I still haven’t told Jo. Are you sure you want to go get the certificate in two days?” 2
Celeste was actually hesitating as well.
But
Between her and Trevor, this was an inevitable step.
It was only a matter of time.
Jordyn would have to accept this reality sooner or later.
With that in mind, she replied, “I’m sure.”
Trevor seemed to think the same way. “Okay.” 1
Celeste put her phone down after reading it.
On Friday evening, as usual, Jordyn came straight to Celeste’s place after school. She stayed at the Rodriguez residence the entire weekend.
Trevor didn’t show up at all.
On Sunday night, Jordyn went back home.
That night, Celeste went to bed early.
The next morning, after she woke up and had breakfast, Celeste went upstairs to pack her things and prepared to head out. 7
