Accidentally Crossing the Tycoon
Chapter 24
Caspar’s POV:
The morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in my bedroom curtains.
I finished getting dressed, ready to head downstairs to my office to handle some paperwork.
The moment I opened my bedroom door, I was blocked by a small figure.
Noah was already dressed, his little face full of anticipation, his dark grape–like eyes fixed on me.
“Good morning, Noah,”
I crouched down to meet my son’s gaze. “You’re up early today.”
Noah didn’t respond, just blinked at me, seemingly waiting for something.
I let out a soft sigh, knowing exactly what was on his mind.
“Are you waiting for Miss Audrey to pick you up for art class?”
Noah gave a quick nod, his eyes lighting up.
I studied the expectant expression on my son’s face, realizing just how much Noah cared about Audrey.
Over these past few weeks, his mutism had shown remarkable improvement–he’d even started speaking voluntarily. All because of Audrey’s presence.
“Noah, I said gently, “Miss Audrey can’t come today.”
Noah’s expression froze instantly, a flicker of confusion crossing his eyes.
“She had a little accident yesterday and is resting in the hospital,” I explained, trying to keep my voice calm. “But the doctor says she’s fine and will recover
soon.”
Noah’s eyes widened. He suddenly grabbed my hand, shaking it forcefully, his lips trembling as he struggled to speak.
‘Hospital?” Noah finally managed to squeeze out the word, his voice tight with anxiety.
‘Yes, but she’s really okay-
‘Go see her!” Noah suddenly raised his voice.
Edward, hearing the commotion, approached.
Taking in the scene, he stepped forward to intervene: “Noah, hospitals aren’t places for children. And Miss Lane needs her rest-
Noah shook his head violently, his little face flushed red, tears welling up in his eyes.
He clutched tightly at my suit pants, looking up at me with pleading eyes.

Seeing my son’s rare emotional outburst, my heart softened. Edward was about to continue his persuasion, but 1 raised my hand to stop him.
“Alright, Noah,” I said softly, crouching down to meet his eyes. ‘I’ll take you to the hospital to see Miss Audrey. But you have to promiss me that you won’t
run around recklessly.”
Noah nodded vigorously, his small hand still clutching tightly to my pant leg.
‘Edward, prepare the car.”
Edward bowed his head slightly. “Yes, sir.”
When we entered the hospital room, Audrey was staring blankly at the ceiling.
She looked much better than yesterday–there was some color back in her face, though she still appeared weak.
Noah practically rushed to her bedside, his little face filled with worry.
Audrey looked at me in surprise, clearly not expecting our visit.
“Noah insisted on coming to see you,” I explained. “He’s been very worried about you.”
‘I’m fine, Noah,” she smiled at him, her voice gentle. “Just some minor injuries. I’ll be better soon.”
Watching Noah’s gaze fall on the bandages around her arm, my heart tightened slightly.
His eyes widened with worry, and he carefully moved closer, then gently blew on her wound.
Audrey’s expression instantly softened, and a touch of emotion flashed across her eyes.
“Thank you, Noah, Audrey said softly, her expression tender. “I feel so much better already.”
Hearing Audrey say she felt much better, Noah nodded with satisfaction, then looked up at me, his eyes sparkling with a certain expectation.
I instantly understood what he meant–he wanted me to do the same thing he had done, to make Audrey feel better in this way.
I gently shook my head, trying to convey with my eyes that this wasn’t quite appropriate.
But Noah frowned, looking at me with that stubborn expression, even giving my leg a gentle push with his small hand, signaling for me to move closer to Audrey’s bedside.
“Noah, I don’t think Miss Lane needs both of us to-” I said in a low voice, trying to politely decline.
“Daddy has too,” Noah insisted, his voice small but unusually firm. “Two people blowing makes wounds heal faster.”
I looked toward Audrey, explaining awkwardly, “Sorry, he seems to think this is some kind of necessary medical procedure.”
Audrey’s cheeks flushed slightly. “It’s okay, if it will put Noah’s mind at ease…”

The entire blowing process took place in a strange mixture of awkwardness and intimacy.
Noah watched us the whole time, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
Throughout the entire afternoon, he never left Audrey’s bedside, sometimes showing her his drawings, sometimes adjusting her pillow
I had never seen Noah show such care and attachment toward anyone.
He usually kept his distance from people around him, even from me, his own father.
But at this moment, watching their warm interaction, I felt a strange emotion stirring in my chest,
It wasn’t until evening, when the sky outside began to darken, that I finally spoke up: “Noah, we should head home. Ass Audrey seeds to rest.
Noah looked up at the window, then at Audrey, his face clearly showing reluctance. He slowly closed his sketchbook but didn’t immediately get up.
“We can come back tomorrow,” I added, “if Miss Audrey doesn’t mind.”
Audrey said gently to Noah: “Noah, listen to Daddy. You should go home and rest.”
She reached out to softly stroke Noah’s hair. “I promise you, I’ll get better soon. Then we’ll have classes together again and paint even more beautiful
pictures.”
Her voice was tender yet firm, carrying a comforting power that could soothe anyone’s heart.
Noah looked up at her, the reluctance in his eyes almost overflowing, but he still slowly nodded his head.
I sat in the car heading home, flipping through the documents in my hands.
Noah had fallen asleep beside me.
My phone suddenly rang–it was James calling.
“Sir, we have the investigation results,‘ James’s voice came through the speaker, ‘regarding Miss Lane’s car accident.”
I immediately set down the documents. “Go ahead.”
“The SUV was arranged by Vanessa Brown.”
A wave of fury swept through me. “You’re certain it was Vanessa Brown?‘
“Yes, sir. We intercepted her phone records and wire transfer evidence.”
“Make the Brown family disappear from New York,” my voice was low and dangerous. “I don’t want to see them at any event ever again. Understood?”
“Yes, sir.”
James paused for a moment, then continued with his concise report.

Also, regarding the London hotel incident, we’ll have the surveillance footage tonight.”
After hanging up, I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes.
I thought of Audrey’s pale face as she lay in that hospital bed, and a wave of guilt washed over me.
If it weren’t for her discovering Vanessa’s abuse of Noah, Audrey wouldn’t have become a target for revenge.
