youchers

The roar wasn’t just any soundit was vibration, force, a living thing that clawed through the air and rippled through my bones. It was deeper than thunder, sharper than a lion’s snarl, and yet it carried something human in its torment

The walls trembled, dust falling from the ceiling, and my bones shook, my heart clenching like my heart was trying to

escape

The steel doors groaned as they finished pulling apart, and what I saw on the other side made my blood run cold. It paralyzed me

The space was stretched wide, cavernous, lit by sterile white lights that seemed like they were barely holding on to the force that was inside

Chains as thick as my whole body snaked across the floor, walls, and ceiling, ridiculously thick and long. And bound in the center, thrashing against its restraint, was an animal unlike any I’ve ever seen

Its body was massiveso huge, it swallowed half of this cavelike basementshoulders so broad, and claws curved like knives, muscles straining as though they would split the chains apart with sheer fury

And its fur was the shiniest of black I’ve ever seen, and it seemed to glow

I couldn’t move, and I wasn’t sure I was breathing. Not a single muscle but my heart was moving

I couldn’t tell what this monster was. It was nothing like a bear, I could say it was a wolf, but this size? Seeing those claws and teeth that looked like they could tear a person apart with just one move, I was certain it wasn’t a wolf

And there was something so unnatural about this beast. I could

place my hand on it

It hasn’t noticed me yet, too busy trying to break free from the chains. It tugged hard on it, but the walls didn’t even bulge. It made me know they had prepared for this

The brothers. They had put much care and planning into this, because the walls and chains didn’t seem just ordinary. If it were just ordinary, a beast that mighty would have long since broken from its restraints

Why was this beast here? Where were the men? Where the fuck

Axel?!

I wanted to be as far away from this beast as possible. I just needed to find Axel. Why did that person lure me here

My body finally moved and I took a step back without taking my eyes off the beast. It continued to thrash against the chains, biting into them, but it was no use. Those chains were particularly made to hold it here

I continued to step back, my body shaking from being in the same room as a beast like this

Since I couldn’t look and watch where I was going, my back bumped into the wall just beside the door. I barely made a soundmy back connecting to the door barely made any soundbut the beast’s head snapped to me in the blink of an eye

I gasped as our eyes connected and another roar ripped out of its throat, and this time I couldn’t breathe. The sound just wasn’t anger. It was rage. Hunger. Pain

And recognition

When those eyes met mine, a jolt went through my body. Not because of how its eyes were glowing, or the look in them, but because in those dark blue eyes was a man I know, a man Ia man I love

No,I whispered, shaking my head as I retraced my steps, walking towards the beast. No, it can’t be.”

I didn’t know what made me so sure that it was him, what made me so uncertain. But like I told Axel days ago, our eyes were like a gateway to our souls, and like I told him, his soul was confusing. That was the exact same way I feel as I look into this beast’s eyes

Axel?I called softly

The beast’s thrashing stopped all of a sudden as if a switch went off. It watched me, its large head tilted. And therein its eyes was recognition

Baby, is that really you?I asked, my voice shaking as I continued to walk towards it, my steps slow

It tilted its head back, those eyes pinned to my face. I stretched my hand, aching to touch him, but then….

Rosette, step back!”

I flinched, and that just made me shift away from the voice and closer to the beast. It snapped its jaw at me, its jaw dangerously close to my head, its breath and saliva landing on my face..

I screamed, my legs giving out in fear. As I crashed to the floor, hands were immediately on me, dragging me back. But I didn’t look away from the beast as it resumed its thrashing

I was shaking uncontrollably now, my eyes wide

That’s Axel,I said, more to myself than to anyone. That’s Axel!”

What the hell are you doing here?!a voice bellowed, and I finally looked away from the beast and looked up. Kross and Kade were behind me, completely naked and covered in dirt

That’s Axel,” I whispered, pointing a shaking finger at the beast

What are you doing here, Rosette?Kade asked, but he didn’t look

That’s Axel,I said again. My brain must be broken because that

The beast roared again, and this time, the sound was filled with pain

as furious as Kross; he just looked scared

all I could say

I snapped my head to him, but Kross was there to force my eyes back to his

Listen to me, Rosette,he snarled, holding my jaw. He pointed at the beast. That isn’t Axel. Ax-”

It’s him!I screamed, dragging my face away from his hold. That’s Axel! I know it’s him! His eyesYou could lie all you want, but just looking into his eyes, I know the man I love!”

Something like pain and relief flashed in Kross’s face, and his features softened. He held my face softly, looking deep into

my eyes

Axel is gone for the night,” he said softly. The beast has taken over. Axel will only return to us when the moon goes

down.”

I looked over at him again to see him still fighting against his bindings, biting into them, but he was no longer roaring, he just whimpered, and the sound sliced through me, my chest tightening in pain

He’s in pain,” I whispered, my vision growing blurry with tears

Kade came to kneel beside me, taking my hand into his. He is.I looked over at him to see his eyes filled with pain

Why?I asked
