Chapter 628
As it was nearing the end of the workday, Celeste’s phone rang.
This time, it was a message from Zachary, “2:00 am. Monday. Get ready.”
Seeing Zachary’s message didn’t surprise Celeste.
After the previous round of work at the base had ended, she had already known that she would definitely have to make another trip there in the near future.
After replying to Zachary, she thought of the matter of her divorce from Trevor.
In order to finalize the divorce as soon as possible, she still informed Trevor roughly of her work arrangements.
“I’ll also be going on a business trip these next few days. It should take about a week.”
If she returned from the trip in time, their 30–day decision period would not yet be over.
If Trevor could make it back as well, they could still apply for a replacement marriage certificate and then go to get the divorce certificate.
Trevor had seemed quite busy lately, so she thought he wouldn’t reply until the next day.
Unexpectedly, the moment she sent the message, Trevor replied. “Okay, got it.”
He didn’t mention his return date at all.
After that, he didn’t send any further messages.
Early Monday morning, Celeste went to the military base.
Just as she had expected, she finished most of the work there within a week. However, something unexpected came up at the base, and she ended up staying an extra four days.
By the time she returned from the base to the city, she discovered that Trevor had sent her several messages.
The earliest one was sent a week ago. “I’m back in the country.”
She hadn’t replied.
Over the next two days, Trevor also didn’t contact her again.
But three days ago, he sent a second message. “I’m going to Glenmere on a business trip tomorrow.”
The latest one was sent yesterday. “I’m going to Jastovia tomorrow at noon.”
After reading the messages, Celeste took a deep breath.
Tomorrow was the final day of their decision period.
After reading the messages, she didn’t reply. Instead, she called Trevor.
However, when she called, the phone showed that it was switched off–she couldn’t get through.

It looked like he hadn’t landed yet…
After trying several times without reaching him, Celeste put her phone away.
It was only a little past three in the afternoon. She returned to the company.
Seeing her back, Matthias came over. “Finished? Why were you delayed by so many extra days?”
Celeste rubbed her temples and told him what had happened.
After Celeste went to the base, Matthias had been following up on her previous work. 1
Because of this, he had run into Trevor twice over the past few days.
Then, he asked, “Did you know Trevor came back a week ago? But he’s been busy with other projects again lately.
“A few days ago, I had a meal with him and some others. From what I heard him talking about, he’ll be flying all over the place before the New Year–busy to an unbelievable degree.”
Celeste lowered her eyes and replied calmly, “Is that so?”
“Yeah.” Matthias curled his lips.
“The number of projects he has on hand–it was honestly jaw–dropping just listening to it.”
Celeste didn’t say anything.
To be honest, ever since she first became aware of Trevor in her teens, he had always been busy.
Whether during his school years or after he started working, he spent most of the year flying all over the world. The time he actually stayed in Baumond wasn’t all that much.
This year, the reason he had stayed in Baumond so often seemed to be because of Wynn, now that she thought about it. 2
Because she had come to Baumond.
So this year, he really hadn’t been flying around nonstop as he had over the previous ten years. 3
But she didn’t say any of this to Matthias.
