Homely hang wonder you think like that. Walau latching or Lavern, you wouldn’t be worth much
Marina s you really this heartless! You am! Lavern were together for seven yeard Ross Group’s success isn’t all you’re ting. Yra snapped, her voice edged with frustration.
Marina let out a soft laugh and replied to Yara in a slow, unhurtigt tone, I never claimed Ross Group’s success was all because of me. But let’s be honest, without me, there wouldn’t even be a Ross Group.
Lavern never invested a dime, yet I still handed him 49% of the shares. Honestly, that’s more than generous.
To put it bluntly, all the money Lavern spends on you? That’s just me, out of the goodness of my heart, giving him a share. I’m the one supporting you. Funny how I’ve never heard a single thank you from you.”
Yara was so mad that she was practically speechless, her breathing all over the place.
She stammered, “Marina..”
Marina cut her off coldly, “I’m not letting Lavern of. Say whatever you want, but it won’t change a thing”
And with that, she ended the call without a second thought.
The call already ended. Only now did Yara realize Marina wasn’t fazed by her threats at all.
Instead, it was Yara whose hands shook with rage from Marina’s words.
She took a deep, shaky breath, forcing down the anxiety bubbling inside her. Then she dug out Winnie’s number and called her up.
Yara knew she was no match for Marina. Even if she couldn’t save Lavern, she’d make sure Marina paid for it.
She thought, As long as I can get back at Marina, I’d cling to Winnie no matter what, even if she looked down on me.
When Marina heard Yara drop Winnie’s name, she was a bit surprised for a second.
But she’d already seriously pissed off Winnie back in Vrufield, so she’d always stayed wary of her.
Now that Yara was bringing up Winnie as a threat, it just put Marina on high alert.
Winnie’s tricks were nothing clever, just plain annoying.
Marina rubbed her temples, forcing herself to focus on the documents Robert had just handed her.
Even though she was heading back to Vrufield, she was determined to deal with the rest job.
Soon, Basil made all the top execs agree. That very afternoon, he took them all down to the notary’s office to get everything notarized.
Meanwhile, Lavern was still in the hospital, stubbornly refusing to confess to anything.
Daniel stayed by his side the whole time, worried he might try to escape.
Basil had already filed for an emergy freeze on Lavern’s personal assets as soon as he arrived yesterday.

By the afternoon, Lavern received official notice that his assets were frozen and he was barred from leaving the country.
After getting the notice, he was so anxious he couldn’t sit still in his hospital room.
Daniel was always keeping watch over his hospital room, never letting him out of sight. Lavern had to hide out in the bathroom just to get in touch with Yara.
Ever since Ross Group took off, he’d never had to put up with this kind of crap,
When he heard from Yara that Marina wasn’t going to let him off the hook, Lavern was so furious he almost threw his phone across the room.
He’d always thought Marina would just keep harping on his relationship with Yara, so he’d been ready for that.
But he never saw it coming when Marina had another plan.
And to make matters worse, she’d even evidence in the villa she’d already sold off.
Lavern had thought about going back to destroy the evidence, but the new owner never let him in. Every time he tried, the place was always hung with a sign that was being renovated.
Marina had already thrown out all his personal belongings. So he’d thought that those seemingly unimportant files in the study had been tossed out, too.
Turns out, she hadn’t touched them at all.
Now, Lavern was kicking himself. He should’ve destroyed that evidence ages ago. ‘Damn, why didn’t I just get rid of it when I had the chance?‘ he cursed himself.
Just before leaving for the day, Basil handed Marina the signed agreements and notarized papers from Ross Group’s top
execs.
“There’s still some stuff to sort out at Ross Group, and you’ll probably be heading back to Vrufield soon. When you do, could you take these documents back to Zamora Group? Mr. Zamora will need to look them over, then you can file them with the archives,” he said.
Marina reached out and took the documents.
“Sure,” she replied.
She didn’t flip through them, just tucked them away with care.
Zamora Group had already bought back all the shares from the top execs. Now, only Lavern’s shares remained unsold.
Basil didn’t mess around. Lavern wouldn’t be able to hold out much longer.
Marina’s job was done. Whatever happened to Ross Group from now on was none of her business anymore.
After Basil left her office, Marina got ready to head out for the day.
As she was leaving, she picked up her phone and glanced at it.

Daron hadn’t sent her a single message all day. He didn’t even check in about the progress at Ross Group.
Marina hesitated for a moment, then finally sent a message to Daron.
Marina: [Mr. Zamora, my work at Ross Group is done. When can I head back to Vrufield?]

Camors Group for three months, she’d be free to go back to Finley Group.
Marina stared at her phone for a long time, but Daron still had replied.
She figured he was probably at Joyce’s birthday party over at the Milner Family. Her eyes dimmed for a moment, but she quickly put her phone away and headed out of the office.
Just as she was about to step into the elevator, Robert burst out of the office in a panic.
“Nts, Finley, wait! Don’t go downstairs yet, he called out, his voic urgent.
Marina shot him a confused look and asked, “What’s going on?”
Robert took a deep breath, his expression serious.
He replied, “Lavern’s mother is here, and she’s brought the whole Ross family with her. They’re making a scene downstairs, accusing you of illegally detaining Lavern.
“When Basil went downstairs just now, they splashed him with animal blood.”
Marina’s face fell as she asked, “Did you call the police?”
Robert nodded and said, “The front desk already called the police.
“They made a mess. There’s blood everywhere in the lobby. People are filming and even live–streaming the whole thing. I bet they’re trying to stir up drama online and turn the crowd against you.”
Marina frowned.
If all the online hate was coming her way, she could handle it.
Rumors never last long anyway. They always end up falling apart
She just didn’t want Daron to get caught up in the mess.
In Vrufield, because of all the schemes she and Elnora had pulled, a lot of people already thought she and Daron were tangled up in some complicated relationship.
If this mess got back to Vrufield, Daron would definitely get involved in it.
Daron had always kept a good image in the public eye and the media.
He’d never been caught up in any scandals or gossip.
If she ended up dragging him into the tabloids and getting him wrapped up in salacious rumors, she’d be the one who should take responsibility.
‘If this blows up, the Zamora family definitely won’t go easy on me, Marina thought, a sense of dread creeping in.
“Where’s Basil?” Marina asked.
Robert quickly replied, “He’s downstairs, having a quick meeting with the audit department.”
Marina rubbed her temples, unable to shake off the guilt. Basil had gotten drenched in animal blood just for being
connected to her.
