As soon as the receptionist said that, people nearby started staring at Logan like he was some kind of outsider.
It was the first time Logan had ever been treated this way at Eliana’s company, and he could barely hold back his frustr But there was nothing he could do, so he just pretended not to care, walked over to the lounge, and sat down to wait. Time crawled by, and Logan sat there feeling like he was sitting on pins and needles. Everyone who walked past seemed to be staring right at him, and honestly, he’d never been this embarrassed before.

As Logan walked away, he caught the receptionist and another staff member whispering behind him. “Isn’t that the guy who made Ms. Lyons stay home and look after the kids ever since they got married?
“She’s got such a sharp business mind, but she was stuck with the Eliot family for years. What a waste. Now that she’s helping Mr. Lyons run the company, it’s only been a month, and the Lyons Group is already turning around.”
“Seriously, marriage can be the biggest cage for a woman. I really admire Ms. Lyons for breaking free from that. Most people wouldn’t have the guts.”
“Now that she’s out, everyone can finally see what she’s really capable of. Otherwise, people would just think she was the wife living in his shadow.”

Logan shot the receptionists a look, and they instantly ducked their heads, clamming up.
He wasn’t about to press the issue. He’d already had enough embarrassment for one day, so he just kept quiet and moved on.
Logan strode into the elevator, and once it dinged at his floor, he stepped out. An assistant was already waiting, ready to guide him straight to the conference room.
When Logan walked in, Wesley stood up and came right over. Looking him dead in the eye, Wesley said seriously, “Mr. Eliot, you’d better watch your mouth.
“Just because we were once in–laws, I’m not here to make trouble for you. But if you go around spreading rumors about Eliana being pregnant, don’t blame me if I come after you.”
Logan added, “Eliana’s still young. Even if she’s not thinking about her future right now, as her parents, we don’t want to see her spend her life alone.
“She married the wrong guy the first time, and that’s on us for not protecting her. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any good men out there.
“If you try to drag her name through the mud, I’ll be the first to and against you.”
With that, Wesley turned and walked out.
Logan was totally lost, so he turned to Eliana, hoping she could fear things up.
