Chapter 50
Catherine’s POV

Thank the Goddess, there wasn’t anything physical wrong with the rogue. His wolf had healed him, which was a good thing–at least he
still had a functioning wolf.
There was no sign of any bruising left, and the doctor confirmed that he had no broken bones when we brought him in.
“Hi,“I said as I looked the rogue up and down.“My name is Kate, and I am the Alpha’s daughter.”
He looked a bit startled as I introduced myself, and he shivered.
“Can you tell me who you are? I asked.
The rogue shook his head.
“Can you remember where you came from?“I asked.
Yet again, he shook his head.
The doctor had taken me aside when I got to his room, and I demanded he tell me the truth.
It seemed like the rogue had sustained amnesia, but I wanted to have a look for myself.
“Kate, the doctor stopped me;his face looked worried, and he sighed.“It seems like our new friend has some memory loss.I believe it is
because of the concussion he had when Raven…”
I stopped the doctor and walked closer to the bed.
‘Can you remember anything?“I asked.“Anything at all?”
“No, he said with a low, husky voice, shaking his head. “I wish I could. My mind is blank, which worries me.”
“Okay, I said, and he lifted his head, looking at me.
Sparkling blue eyes stared up at me, and something crossed his eyes.
“There is something familiar about his eyes, Kia said.“It’s like he knows you!”
“But from where?“I said, searching my mind for old memories.
‘I don’t know, she said. Just be careful.I have mixed emotions about him.”

With that said, she left my mind.

“Can you please remove the cuffs?” He asked, “I promise I will behave.”
He didn’t look capable of creating chaos, but just to be sure,I will have him babysit until we are certain he isn’t up to something.
“Remove the cuffs,” he ordered, and one of the guards walked in. He gave me a questioning look.I nodded, and he unlocked the cuffs.
“If there is anything you need,“I said as the warrior left the room.“Please ask.In the meantime,I will arrange with Luna to give you a
room inside the packhouse.”
The rogue scrunched his eyebrows together, confused.
“You’re letting me stay?” He asked.
“For now,yes.”
“Why?”
“I can’t let you out of pack territory until I am certain you will be safe,” I said.“If you leave,I will not be able to protect you.”
The rogue gave me a look, and his gaze ended on the wheelchair.
A soft smile reached my lips.
‘Don’t think that because I’m in a wheelchair,I can’t defend myself;on the contrary,you should be cautious.”
My gaze turned to the doctor.
“If there is nothing else,” I said.“I will be leaving.Ask Luna to get him some new, clean clothes and have the kitchen prepare a meal for him.I will let you know when his room is prepared.”
“Very well, the doctor said.
I turned my wheelchair around and pushed myself outside the room, then turned to the warriors at the door.
“Make sure you don’t let him out of your sight, I instructed.
They both nodded, and I left for the reception.
I was surprised that the triplets didn’t wait for me, and my heart sank.I pouted as I pushed the chair forward.
Why did I feel so disappointed?

The triplets scent was still lingering in the air,and it was coming from the exit.

I took a deep breath and pushed forward toward the exit. The nurse rushed toward the door and pushed the double doors open, and I
passed through,thanking her.
The triplets stood a couple of feet away, discussing something, and Sam gestured to Grey to come to me.
What was he up to?
I narrowed my eyes at him, trying to read him. He looked serious again, which didn’t suit his playful self.I liked the playful side of Sam
more, yet his serious side had a certain charm to it.
I suddenly wondered if Sam had just acted silly to mask his serious side. The man I met earlier was different.
My gaze snapped toward Grey as he walked toward me.He had even changed.
He was sensitive for a second, then became the biggest asshole the next.
I seriously need to find out what his problem is.This fighting among the brothers wasn’t going to work for me.I wasn’t some toy or
item.I can’t be owned.
Grey stopped a couple of feet from me,and he squatted down to my level, blocking off his brothers. Some days I felt like a child when
people did that.
I slowly moved my gaze, finding his.
“Kate, he said, reaching for my hand as he searched for the correct words.I let him take my hand, feeling the sparks slowly calm me
down. I came to apologize,“he said and sighed.“I am sorry for being such a jerk earlier.”
‘I can use more descriptive words for your actions,“I said, raising an eyebrow.I wasn’t angry at him,but I was a bit disappointed. The
bond didn’t allow me to be angry for long.
‘I know,I know,“he said, dropping his gaze at my hand in his.Rubbing small circles on my knuckles.
‘I am sorry,” he said. “I really am.I don’t know what came over me. Please forgive me.I will try harder not to lose my cool.I am just…”
Grey swallowed hard, and he hesitated to express his feelings.
“You are just what?“I asked, “Jealous?”
He shook his head, lifting his gaze.
“No.I am not jealous,” he said.“It’s just that this is all new to me. I have never felt like this before, and everything inside me wants to
protect you from harm.My emotions are all over the place.”

…
My heart warmed, and my facial expression softened.Grey was just as confused as I was.
“It’s okay, “I said, placing my hand on top of his.“We will work through the confused emotions;I have them too.”
I winked at him, and his cheeks turned red.
“Thanks,“he said shyly,getting to his feet.“May I?”
I nodded, and Grey rushed to the back of the wheelchair and pushed me forward toward his brothers.
Colt and Sam both raised their eyebrows and looked at us in amazement.
“What are you guys looking at?“I asked.
“Nothing,“Colt said, which raised suspicion in me.
“What Colt is trying to say,“Sam said, chirping in,“is that we would like to know if you would join us for a trip to the beach.”
