Even though Irene looked a bit over the top right now, Eliana couldn’t help but feel touched.
Back in her previous life, she’d been so caught up in her own world that she never realized just how much Irene cared about her.
If Irene hadn’t truly considered her a friend, she wouldn’t have kept trying to talk sense into her, even if Eliana snapped at her for meddling and made Irene cry her eyes out a few times.
In her previous life, Eliana had been so clueless, so stubborn, and so set in her ways, always thinking her husband and son were the only ones who truly mattered.
In the end, they pushed her away, kept her at a distance with all their talk about boundaries, until she was left all alone.
Hearing Irene say all this again, Eliana was honestly overwhelmed. She couldn’t help herself. She just reached out and hugged Irene tightly.
“Irene, thank you. You’re my best friend, always and forever,” Eliana whispered, her voice trembling a little.
“I’m done fighting with you. You’re way more important to me than Logan ever was,” she added, her words full of sincerity.
‘I owed her these words in my previous life. This time, I’m not holding back. She deserves to know exactly how much she means to me,’ Eliana thought.
“Whoa, Eliana, why are you suddenly so cheesy?” Irene couldn’t help teasing her. “Seriously, how come you’re not into Nathan at all these days? Don’t tell me you’ve switched teams or something?”
Eliana had been all emotional just a second ago, but after Irene said that, she honestly wanted to smack her.
“Irene, I swear, your brain’s gonna get fried from all those web novels one day. Do you even have a single normal thought in your head?” Eliana shot back.
As soon as Eliana said that, Irene suddenly got serious. She looked Eliana straight in the eye and asked, “Wait, did
you travel in time or something?”
The moment Irene said that, Eliana froze. Her heart sank, and she was torn. She didn’t know what to say.
She knew Irene had read a ton of stories like this, so she figured Irene would probably be cool with it.
But actually saying it out loud, admitting something this crazy, just made Eliana feel uneasy.
She hadn’t even dared to tell her own parents, so even though she knew Irene was someone she could trust, she still couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Seeing Eliana lost in thought, Irene quickly said, “Alright, I was just messing with you. I promise I won’t spout
nonsense anymore.

“And stop looking at me like I’m some kind of idiot, okay? It’s not that I’m crazy, I just think outside the box.”
Eliana finally burst out laughing. “Alright, you just think outside the box.”
“Are you busy right now?” Irene asked, glancing at Eliana.
When Eliana shook her head, Irene grabbed her hand and pulled her up. “Great, then you can be my unpaid helper for a while. Tonight, I’ll hang out with you for some midnight snacks.”
“Alright…” Eliana said, getting up to give Irene a hand.
Eliana was so caught up in helping Irene that she had no idea the video from the hospital had already been posted online and was blowing up all over the internet.
Logan’s actions really pissed a lot of people off, so the video was getting shared like crazy. Even Hannah, her husband, and Aurora saw it in no time.
The moment Aurora saw the video, she was absolutely furious. She hopped in her car and sped straight back to the Eliot Mansion.
As soon as she parked, she burst into the house, shouting as she ran inside.
“Mom, Dad, did you see that video online?” Aurora shouted, barely able to contain her
anger.
“Who does Eliana even think she is? How could she treat Logan like that? How could she make him bow and apologize to her in front of everyone?” she ranted.
“That video is going viral, and now the whole internet is laughing at the Eliot family,” Aurora fumed, her face flushed with rage.
As Aurora stormed into the house, she saw Hannah and Jack sitting there, their faces dark and stormy. Clearly, they’d already seen the video, too.
Aurora was actually terrified of Jack. The moment he glanced up at her, she didn’t dare keep shouting and instead hurried over to Hannah, lowering her voice.
She said, “Mom, did you call Logan? This is a nightmare. How could he do something so reckless?”
“And Isabella is nothing but trouble. If it weren’t for her, Logan wouldn’t be getting trashed like this. Honestly, I’m starting to really hate her,” Aurora muttered.
Hannah was fuming too, but she managed to say, “I called him. He said he’s on his way back.”
Aurora just nodded and quietly sat down off to the side, not saying another word.
Whenever Jack was around, Aurora instinctively clammed up, terrified that if she said too much, his anger would come crashing down on her.
Soon, Logan arrived home.
As soon as the butler announced Logan was back, Jack thumped his cane hard against the floor and let out a

Aurora was honestly scared of Jack seeing him like that. She instantly shrank back next to Hannah, trying her best to blend into the background.
As Logan walked in and approached them, Jack’s voice cut through the air, cold and sharp. “You ungrateful brat!”
Logan’s brows knitted together in disbelief as he shot Jack a look, unable to believe what he was hearing.
Ever since Logan took over the Eliot Group and ran it like a well–oiled machine, Jack hadn’t treated him like this in ages.
Sure, when he was a kid, Jack used to scoff at him and even hit him sometimes, but Logan thought that was all in the past.
He was a grown man and the CEO of the Eliot Group. Logan figured Jack should at least treat him like an equal adult.
But the moment Jack said those words, Logan realized he’d just been taking things for granted.
To Jack, Logan could only have the dignity he wanted if he kept making the Eliot family proud.
But Logan made the family lose face. Even a little, Jack would go right back to the old ways, either beating him or chewing him out, just like when Logan was a kid.
But after everything that went down, Logan was already drowning in humiliation. He was burning with anger inside, and something in him just refused to apologize.
He just stood his ground, locking eyes with Jack, defiant to the core.
Jack completely lost it. He jumped up and whacked Logan with his cane, not holding back at all.
“What are you doing? He’s not a kid anymore, and you’re still hitting him. Don’t you care about his feelings at all?” Hannah burst out, her voice sharp with worry.
“Jack, are you trying to hurt him? What if something happens to him? He’s my only son,” Hannah cried, her voice shaking with fear.
Seeing Logan get hit, Hannah ached for him. She couldn’t help but cry out in shock.
But Jack didn’t hold back at all. He brought his cane down hard on Logan again.
Logan couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed to his knees.
